No locals on Directv Stream on new smart tv

Here we go again.  I use starlink for my internet.  Couple months ago I lost accesscto my locals when using starlink and my firestik.  A vpn let me get the locals.  Ut took about a week fir directv/starlink to resolve the issue.

Just purchased abd setup a new smart tv (insignia with fire tv) in my rv.  No locals again.  Installed my von...have locals.  What gives?  All firmware was updated, apps included.  My other tv abd phone is working fine getting locals without a vpn.

That is strange I have never heard of this issue before this is a new one for me.  At least you are able to get your locals again even if that means using the VPN to get them.

Obvious your IP is not in your local area. Try restarting the Starlink modem and see if you get a different IP. May need to try several times.

Locals are supposed to be for your market. Most likely, your assigned IP is from a different market than the locals you use. Using the VPN means your TV service recognizes you with a different IP.

So Starlink is assinging you an IP for a different area than those locals accept.

@Juniper been thru this before...I have other devices/tvs that use Starlink for access...and NOW wirk with locals..

.the new tv is doing the same thing I went thru over a month ago...either directv or starlink fixed the problem then concerning ip address assignment...now its doing it with a new smart tv...im just tired of calling and dealing with offshore directv support who WERE oblivious of the problem The previous time.

I doubt those in customer support have any control over any IP conflicts. Best they can do is standard troubleshooting or (hopefully) pass on the situation by way of a trouble ticket for internal IT, engineers, etc. to work this out with Starlink.

Inform Starlink like you did last time. But if like before it was an issue starting with Starlink with how they assign an IP address, then you might just keep dealing with that over and over with that particular ISP.

Annoying you have to deal with this a second time. But again, a public forum cannot get Starlink and DIRECTV STREAM on the same page.
