Run diagnostic speed test very inaccurate

I’m getting 14 mbps download on my new stream box wired and wireless. I test my phone and I’m getting over 300mbps which is consistent to what I should get. Any ideas on why it’s so different? Nothing else is eating my bandwidth either. Thanks

Yah, the networks diagnostics test has been off for about 6 weeks now. Ethernet card is 10/100 so u won't get over 100 on that test. I used to always get 89.9 on the ethernet test but now mine is like yours around 14. Wifi used to test around 300 for me but now it's the same 14. I used to think my ISP was throttling but now sure what is going on. Might be a software glitch. I downloaded a speedtest app from google play store on the box and the tests came back 94 for ethernet and 350 for wifi.

I think it is either a software glitch or is it possible Dtv throttles our bandwidth on the Dtv Stream box? I downloaded a speed test from the google play store on the box--the speeds are what my laptop shows for my ISP.  I use the Analiti one

I tested it out by bringing one of my osprey boxes to my brother in law's house who has Gigabit via Spectrum.   I have  Uverse 100 at home.  It would only log about 13 at either location.  So, is it possible that the Directv server will only transmit at the throttled level?   Is anyone getting anything higher than that?

I'm having the same problem with Stream Box, Ethernet connection speeds show 14 instead of 80's I was getting before. When I plug my laptop into the same Ethernet cable I get 400 on strength test. Is there a fix yet?

@DCS212 It's not a problem unless it is causing connection/service issues. It is either just a software glitch or Dtv Stream is throttling their service. You only need 8mb/sec for each device.

Not so sure it isn’t a problem.    If DIRECTV Stream were not throttling, would the judder problems when changing channels or the speed at which a channel changes be much improved?

I played around with a relative’s YouTube TV and there is no initial judder when tuning to channels with tickers like CNN.

It's not a glitch. Mine has been 11-13 on ethernet and wireless for around 4-5 months now. Other people on this forum--and on reddit say the same (the ones that notice b/c they do a diagnostic network test) I think Dtv Stream might throttle the connection speed. You only need a speed of 8mb/sec on each device for the service to work properly--so it's not a problem being at 11-13.

Even if that speed isn't a problem for the DTV app, it is potentially a problem if you are using a different app that supports 4k (Netflix, Prime Video, etc.) on the device.

@Jrandomuser Other apps aren't affected--it is just the Dtv Stream service. I downloaded a speed test app on the Dtv Stream box and ran the test. Result was 91-92 mb/sec.

The Ethernet port is only 10/100.

@rharb Dtv Stream service works with a minimum of 8mb...for each device .I'm seeing the same network diagnostic test and never have any issues with my stream service. That networks diagnostics test has been showing 11-13 for 5 months for me. It's not a problem with the service. I have spoken to friends and family members with Dtv Stream boxes and they see the same network diagnostics speeds.  If you are seeing issues then it's your internet or perhaps an hdmi connection,.

That speed on the Dtv Stream box network diagnostic is not the issue. Everyone I have spoke to with Dtv Stream service sees the same network diagnostic result with no service issues. Put that thought to bed and find another reason. I'd try a new hdmi cable or different hdmi input first. Maybe do a red button reset on the box next.
