Samsung TV / DirecTV Stream issues?

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with the DTVS app on a new Samsung TV?  After much ado and many months, it seems the problem with DVR playback not working has been fixed (reported extensively on Samsung forums.)  I'm still having regular episodes of the normal streamed content stopping/starting, screen going black for several seconds, delays, etc.

Yah close it b/c some people have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to device (firestick, Samsung tv) browsers, and they try to always get the last word in --even when they are wrong (when they think they are experts)

Each and everyday. Chatted over and over with tech support and they preach that they will solve my issue everytime I complain. What a joke. Amazon prime, Netflix,Hulu and others stream effortlessly. Wake up direct tv……get a geek and fix your app. I don’t need a streaming box or stick, you went up AGAIN on pricing for something you are not providing. Do not try to watch a baseball or football game …. You will kill someone

Omg this streaming service is a joke with the Samsung tizen operating system. Spent hours with tech support installing and uninstalling the direct tv app. Over and over. Rebooting the system, all to no avail. Netflix, paramount, Amazon prime, Hulu and many others just stream and stream effortlessly. We had trouble when it was called attnow too. Dialog turning to Spanish and back to English. 

I have the latest tv on the market, direct tv just went up again in January on subscription. I don’t want a streaming box or Roku . Get your geek squad off tech or chat sessions and answer the phone…… when I can call and talk to someone live they are going to catch all (Edited per community guidelines). If your policy is to charge me monthly for a service that I can’t watch without interrupting every 3 minutes, at least discount the fee. It’s embarrassing to have folks over to watch the World Series or the Super Bowl and have to put up with this.

wake up DIRECTV ……. Read all these posts, I am not the only one.

I do not understand all this talk about Samsung apps, etc.. I have the DirecTV streaming boxes and am experiencing the dropped streams on both my tv's. This started about 2 weeks ago. I have had Directv stream since last October and had no issues until the past 2 weeks. Have been talking with their "Community Specialists" for the past 2 days. They have had me do all sorts of things as reloading, sending them pics of my internet speed, etc, etc.  Of course they can't figure out the problem so now they are going to send me new devices. I told them others have the same issue and some have gotten new devices and still have a problem. I just don't get it!!!

The straw that breaks the camel's back is on the horizon....

I'm willing to bet DirecTV Stream will be no more shortly and we'll be hearing of a new transitional service yet to be named....

I'm having the same issues. I have a 2021 Samsung Neo 75 inch 4k TV. The only time I have issues is with the directv stream app.  Everything else works fine. Screen constantly goes black or has the circle in the middle of the screen or tells me to try again later. I'm thinking about switching to YouTube TV. This especially (Edited per community guidelines) when watching live sports.

Yup. Nobody's having good experience with the Samsung DirecTV Stream App. As previously mentioned, the easiest fix is to use a $30 Roku or FireStick instead. Much better experience. Or wait eons for Samsung and DirecTV to fix the app.

Amazing how people are willing to spend thousands of dollars on tv's and sound systems---but a 30 dollar external device--meh that's too much.

That's not always true. I have the devices. I have high speed internet and my stream is constantly stopping and I have to restart. Have been talking with DirecTV people for days. All of their "canned" suggestions have not worked. Now they are sending me replacement devices. How many want to wager that isn't going to fix the problem?

You're right. A replacement device probably won't fix your issue. If multiple devices have this issue, then something is interrupting the internet stream. Most likely the issue lies within your home network. Best to start your own new thread and we can offer more troubleshooting tips.

It's been a problem for years since it was first released. Little improvement has taken place although some have had some success. As we have been voicing for a long time there little evidence that they care to fix the app. All should accept the failure and proceed with the best alternative of using a trust external streaming device.
