Hulu dropped several RSNs not too long ago. Any remaining RSNs are few and far between. So for anyone that RSNs are a factor, Hulu is not the right provider.
For checking specific areas if they have any RSNs, but most listed are just national.

@Juniper Well, no one is getting anything now with Directv Stream, because it doesnt work.. So to me HULU is 1000% as I am now watching tv. Come Monday morning I will be able to have CNBC on as I am trading stocks and will be happy.
Plus its cheaper!!!
So keep drinking the Koolaid man, I was a customer for 5 years.. and would still have been a customer if they could keep the service working for me.
Im not going to deal with customer service reps in Pakistan or India anymore that keep saying the same stupid crap.
Adios!!!!!

At this point I would have expected that Direct TV Stream would have been fixed. Even though I have canceled the service to avoid paying money for something that does not work, I'm following this forum to see when the problem has been fixed. In the general context, DirectTV Stream is a fairly good app, even with it needing some improvements. I will again subscribe to it should it ever work again. Both-AT&T and Starlink know about the problem, but in typical fashion for any communication product they are offering, AT&T seems to be dragging their feet in keeping customer satisfaction as a high priority. Starlink as a new ISP cannot afford to have disgruntled customers at this time and most likely will do the best they can to get problems resolved. In earlier posts it was mentioned that the app is working under VPN. I can attest to that using a friend's subscription who is not a Starlink customer. Where is the active, coordinated @DirectTVhelp on this forum updating us as to progress being made in an at least twice daily fashion? This is not a problem on the customer side, it is most likely an issue on the AT&T side which the Company must fix.

Come on Directv...it's about time you fixed the problem...it should be an easy fix...you locked out the Starlink ip addresses last week. I am currently running a VPN that is letting me watch...but I will not continue much longer.
It is not a weak wifi situation like your offshore support (ha ha) people are trying to blame...having us reload apps, redo passwords.. ad infinitum!!
I'm not a conspiracy theorist...but it makes me wonder if it was intentional???
You call this customary service???

Same here. Been out since Monday. Works with Hughes.net so why not Starlink suddenly? Did Starlink change something, or did DirecTV Streaming, or both? (Edited per community guidelines)

Guys, if all other streaming services work and just not Directv.. Its easy to determine its Directv. I cancelled yesterday and switched to HULU.. Works perfectly on Starlink.
So the bottom line is Directv who I called every day for 1 week , does not have the capability to understand what is going on because you are dealing with 3rd world countries when you call support that keep repeating the same script like trained monkeys. They can't think independently and get the information to the appropriate parties. So no matter how much you complain or call, the people that have the ability to fix it will never know the problem exists.
One thing to note, when I called in to cancel the service, I got a person in the United States! Go Figure. I spoke to the Gentleman for some time and he was actually quite knowledgable about the IT world and he was going to inform his supervisors as well about the problem.
I myself could not in good conscience keep waiting for service so I switched.
Its a shame because I had the service 5 years.
This is an issue that should have been resolved in 1 day, but Directv Stream does not have the capability to do it.
Good luck to everyone in Southern California that is dealing with this nightmare. My account is still active till the end of the month and I checked again today and still doesn't login!! LOL.

I just set up a network wide VPN and DirecTV Stream is working again including on the Osprey boxes. I would prefer not to have to pay for the VPN in addition to the Stream service, though.

False. Plenty are getting DIRECTV STREAM. There is simply an issue between them and Starlink affecting some customers. Just because you and a few others have a problem doesn't mean everyone is.
You like Hulu better, that is fair. But be civil about it and leave the juvenile insults at home.
Most companies deal with outsourcing now. However, I do agree they should be more kowledgable and not have a strict adhearence to scripts.
Almost contradicts the feel of your prior statement. Perhaps you would not complain about outsourcing if it was Spain and/or Mexico? In any case you get the next agent available no matter where they are from.

Some claim DIRECTV STREAM is the issue because they are the only proivder affected.
However, Starlink is the only ISP affected by this issue.
Since this is unique to both DIRECTV STREAM and Starlink, that is not proof the sole cause is one or the other. Certainly an interaction between them, which could be one of them or even and issue on both sides. A prior post got communication back that Starlink had it as a known issue and was working on it. Don't know if that message was accurate or just a generic response.
I see mention that using a VPN is allowing it to work. So there is a workaround. You don't have to pay for a VPN as some programs come with one included in their service and there may be ways to get a free one. I agree this is not the solution through, just a temporary option. We need clear info from DIRECTV STREAM and Starlink on the issue and who is responsible to fix (or even if it is both).
As a note VPNs tend to be used when someone doesn't want to be locked out because they are in a different country. Services like Hulu, Netflix, etc. are primarly nationwide. DIRECTV STREAM on the other hand is a live TV service so any channels that are Regional/Local matter for where your location is. So if the location is not reported correctly that affects a live TV service more than a static service like other streaming providers.

Also if you actually spoke Spanish you wouldn’t forget the accent mark for ‘Adios!’

It could be possible the issue is on Starlink, but as I posted earlier, HTTP requests from the web app are reaching ATT’s servers, and being returned with a 403 Forbidden error. So it’s not like Starlink is somehow dropping packets in transit. ATT’s servers are actually receiving the requests and due to some configuration, they’re explicitly returning a Forbidden error. At the very least, ATT engineers can debug the servers that are returning 403 errors and see why it’s happening, again because it’s their servers that are returning the error.

Having basic service via VPN is a nightmare as most WiFi routers do not promote VPN unless it is 'Pure VPN' that Netgear builds into their higher end routers plus you'll have to pay for it. For just testing I have been using my PC and its NordVPN and Internet sharing, but it is not very stable in Windows 11 and the WiFi router therefore is not happy. Well, it is for testing only but basically confirms what Antartic0054 is saying. @DirectTVhelp, your posts show heavy ignorance! Please stop asking about names of agents, promoting chats, etc. You know what Starlink customers are saying with many posts right here on YOUR forum. !DirectTV Stream does NOT work with Starlink as an ISP! Tell your supervisors or whoever is responsible to get these issues fixed. I'm beginning to believe that rgsilverman was right by saying that the responsible DirectTV Stream personnel does not even know that there is an issue with Starlink. Unfortunately, not to repeat myself from my earlier post, I have had that AT&T experience before many times with phone service, DSL, Fixed Wireless Internet. @DirectTVhelp, can we please get some productive work out of you? You are paid employees of the Company. We expect a little more from you. Thank you.

The forum help team is only supplementary to customer support. Due to the level of this issue, I firmly beleives it goes beyond theirs and regular customer supports abilities to address. I would encourage a BBB complaint at this point to both DIRECTV STREAM and Starlink. Please fully detail the issue, including how any VPN you use is sucessfull as a workaround. As the BBB complaint gets forwarded to corporate, at least on the DirecTV/DIRECTV STREAM side you usually get an official response back from the company.
This should make sure that the trouble is sent to the right people to fix. I would hope any responses back shed light on the actual cause as it is interesting to have an issue that applies to one TV provider and one satellite internet provider respectively.
