starlink and diret tv stream not working
i have starlink and my direct tv stream was working for over a month then today 09/05/2022 it stopped and direct tv stream is giving me an error to try again later or that "your network conditions may be degrading your video stream" and then i cannot get any content. it wont even start the app. I am frustrated. can one help me with this error or do i need to cancel service.

Juniper, I believe it is too early for a BBB complaint. That is pretty heavy handed after just one week of outage. I think that I will start with another one of my snail mail registered letters to the President of AT&T (regular mail and emails do not get answered). At least issues might get addressed to the right department. It is so sad to see this from a big Company that obviously is too big to provide good service in any of its many departments.

Keep in mind that though AT&T remains primary ownership, the TV services have split with off with their co-owner managing the service. Notice may need to go through TPG if you are doing a slower direct correspondence instead.

I too can align to what rgsilverman mentioned earlier about lack of knowledge on technical support’s part but have hope for a fix. I spoke with 3 Directv Stream agents today who all said they were unaware of the issue. The last person I spoke with actually went on this forum to see this post and others and opened a case and gave me the case ID. On another post, someone wrote that Directv acknowledged the issue and had engineers working on a fix. After my experience with technical support, I’m not so confident about this. I also sent a message to Starlink and awaiting a response. I’ve been a Directv Stream subscriber since Day 1 and hope this issue somehow gets resolved soon. Everyone affected needs to speak up on this one to help bring visibility to this issue.

Those of you that haven't been able to connect, WHAT POP are you assigned to by Starlink. Go to starlink.sX and look for the bright green triangular icon on the map. Im on the one at Hawthorne CA

Thanks for no help.. and on other topics there is directv help that pops in.
What's the point of the forum, just for us to (Edited per community guidelines) about the service not working and you and juniper to tell us it's a starlink problem?

@bcbsncjlj how do we get to the support specialists then? Whenever I call, I get the same first level support people who go through scripts with no way to escalate to a higher tier. This much has been said several times on this thread, where you get who you get when you call in.
I would think a thread with now 7 pages would warrant some feedback from someone higher on this forum.

DirecTV has commented in several of the Starlink threads that they're aware of the issue and working on a solution. Who knows how long that will take, though.

The point of this forum is for other users helping each other out. The official "help" team is a small group that is supplementary to customer support. They can sometimes help with account specific things, but the issue this thread is about seems to be higher then what they can deal with.
I am not saying it is a Starlink issue. What I am saying is that DIRECTV STREAM and Starlink are the only TV provider and ISP affected respectively. This is unique to the two of them together. As DIRECTV STREAM is live TV channels where indvidual location matters, as opposed to a library (Netflix, etc.) that only cares about country and that using a VPN seems to be a workaround, it sounds like location reporting between the two is the issue. Though that shouldn't result in a speed degredation problem message.
So with the issue seeming to be between both, it is suggested to contact each of them to report the issue. With that it is ongoing, and no specific answers from either, that is where you might consider a BBB complaint. That does send it to the corporate level. If you choose to do so I would submit it for each of them to have all bases covered.

DirecTV shipped me 3 new boxs. Did that fix it? NO NO NO. Heck, I could have told them that. It frustrating as all get out. Natch the Streaming has a glitch, AFTER I send back all my SAT stuff, and take it all down. grrrr. Computer still can not get it either, using Starlink. When using Hughes, I get it, but the bandwidth limits make it unfeasible.

You guys are still dealing with this??? I CANCELED directv stream already and have been using HULU. Also you can use Sling or others. Works perfect on Starlink.

Yes many are still dealing with this, but only with the Starlink ISP. So something communicating between the two seems to be the issue.
But as you are canceled, well enjoy. You can always look back into DIRECTV STREAM once they and Starlink figuer it out. Or change ISPs to any of the others not affected.

@Juniper I know its only Starlink.. Thats the whole point of this thread! @johnvoss1 I switched to HULU.. But there are many others.. Youtube TV, Sling TV, etc etc.
I liked HULU as when I pay with my AMEX platinum I get a 20 dollar credit each month. so saving me money.
