The reason is that your home location is not set or you changed internet providers.   I’m not sure what type of devices you are using to watch DIRECTV Stream, but if one or more of them have Location settings available, reset the Location on one of them to “Home.”’  That should then give you the ability to watch up to 30 Streams from that location.

Essentially, DIRECTV STREAM grants you 20 simultaneous streams from the verified ‘home’ location (based off the IP address at your home). Any locations that do NOT have the same IP address as your home (are considered ‘away’ locations) only give you three simultaneous streams ( two of which can be streaming devices). I can see it being a major limitation, but you are able to change your ‘Home’ location as alluded to by @JAL123 4 times a year.

Hello Lady. Thank you for contacting us. Most customers can enjoy DIRECTV STREAM on all of their compatible devices connected to their home network at the same time. And, use up to three of those streams on the go. For more information, visit:  https://www.directv.com/support/stream/article/KM1354360 We will send you a private note for further assistance.
