Trying to record only NEW episodes
When choosing tv programs to record, I always select to record only "New episodes," yet for every tv series I record, I get many, many past episodes on secondary channels. I have deleted and re-added the recording request many times, making sure that I am choosing "New episodes." I see that this problem was reported a few years ago and the solution provided is always the same...."Make sure you are recording only new episodes." This problem has obviously not been remedied. Is there a way to ensure only NEW episodes are recorded? I am sick and tired of having to go into my recorded episodes and deleting all of the not-new episodes that have been recorded or deleting them while they still show up in the "Upcoming" category. Please help before I decide to change services.

Problem is they don't have the option to choose the channel that series recordings are set up on. We've been asking for that feature for years.

We're here to help, @rotroha. Could you share with us the devices you're using to record, so we can take a closer look? Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

I have smart tvs for the app & the app on my IPad. I have deleted recording options & set to record new episodes only & it still records ALL episodes from previous seasons & from different channels. it is ridiculous the amount of time it takes. This should be an easy fix but nothing is easy with Direct TV stream!

I have this exact same problem and it very quickly deletes shows I actually do want to watch by maxing out my space with old episodes of shows I don’t want to watch. Any fix for this extremely annoying problem? DTV Stream should, at least, provide unlimited recording space if it cannot provide a fix for recording 25+ unwanted episodes for every 1 wanted episode of a single show.
