what brand of TV supports Directv better?
thinking about getting a new TV because I have had to reinstall Directv app twice on my insignia amazon fire tv purchased from Best Buy in January 2022. But my Toshiba brand purchased earlier and I never needed to reinstall it

The smart TV apps in general are sub-standard for DirecTV. Just a way to get you started. There support falls off regardless of TV brand and any updates tend to be behind. The TV makers keep the bare minimum of specs to run apps, but not very well overall. And the DirecTV app too often is not optimized itself for them.
As such it is recommended to use a dedicated streaming box of your choice: Roku, Firestick, DirecTV's Gemini (Streaming-only version for correct firmware), etc.
So if your only reason for replacing the TV is the DirecTV app, get a streaming box instead. Much cheaper and a better long term experience I feel.
