Why can't I pause a live tv program on my directtv stream? It always goes directly to live instead of where it was paused.
Why can't I pause a live tv program and leave for 30 minutes come back and hit play? It skips to live Tv whenever I come back and lose the program I was pausing and then I cannot even rewind it back to the paused spot?

What streaming device are you using?
Have you tried resetting that streaming device?

We want to know if this happens in different devices, such as smartphone or laptop. You can also try to uninstall and re install the DIRECTV STREAM app and try this link, where you will find detailed information about how to set up your DIRECTV STREAM device and remote.

@zindy3800 the pause-live buffer has a max capacity of 60 mins (I think). e.g. if you tune to a program at 7 pm and pause at 7:30 pm, the buffer will exhaust at 8 pm and will shift and maintain the 60 min buffer while progressing with live time. When it reaches that capacity, the video will automatically start (8 pm). There might be some other cases, but that's the most common one and the one that I've seen. When I pause and I don't know at what time I'm coming back I record ;)

I have the same problem, pause doesn't pause, it goes back to live with no rewind buffer. I don't see anything in the link shared above that addresses this. What can I do?

Hello Directv help,
Sorry for the delay, but we finally tried the pause and it works exactly at GTyz explained it. I just have to remember not to pause for too long , but record instead. Thank you for your help in this matter.

I am not pausing mine more than 30 minutes and it still jumps to live tv. I am using the app installed on my fire tv, and on my other tvs using roku stick with the app installed on roku.
Please advise.
