DirecTV cancelling Newsmax

I am a 12 year subscriber to DirecTV & have had AT&T cell service for 15 years. I am EXTREMELY disappointed that DirecTV is cancelling Newsmax—the last (Edited per community guidelines) news channel. If this is not resolved with Newsmax being restored I will be cancelling my subscriptions.

I HOPE EVERYONE CANCELS ALL AT&T SERVICES. THEY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT VIEWS AND THEY CANCEL THEM.  THIS IS UNAMERICAN. THIS IS COMMUNISM. I'M NOT GIVING ANOTHER DIME TO AT&T. THEY CANCELED NEWSMAX (WHICH IS THE ONLY TRUTH TELLING NEWS OUTLET LEFT), SO NOW I'M CANCELING AT&T. SHAME ON AT&T.

Why does AT&T think this is acceptable. I will cancel all my services with AT&T across the board. I have been a customer for 45 years. Cell phones, Internet, Direct TV everything if they don't put it back.

I have been a customer of ATT since the bag phones and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in this company. If they continue to cancel Newsmax I will cancel all 4 of my phones and transfer to their biggest competitor. How dare this company try to tell me what I can watch and how I should believe. Everyone that has ATT should cancel all services if they continue to cancel Newsmax. After this I will NEVER trust or recommend ATT to anyone.

I am upset to hear Newsmax has been cancelled on Direct TV. I have two internet accounts and 3 phones with AT&T that I am considering to cancel after years of being with AT&T, unless Newsmax is restored to Direct TV. This was an awful choice by AT&T. Newsmax is a great news station and if not restored to Direct TV, I will no longer want to be your long time customer!

NewsMax is full of lies.

DirecTV forums are here:

http://forums.directv.com

But the message on my U-Verse screen says you can watch their drivel for free. Why would you want to pay?

Very disappointed that Newsmax has been removed.   First One American News and now this.   I have my home phone, cell phones, uverse tv, and internet all through AT&T but am looking at alternatives today for all of these services

As an almost 3 decade subscriber to directv and att, I will be seperating my services with both. The daily ritual of morning coffee and news I want to watch has been taken away by this woke culture. As of today I will be taking it upon myself for different cell service and “ cutting the cord” for my family. Good riddance. 🤘🏻

These aren't the DirecTV forums.

You didn't know you can watch for free via their website.

Are you planning on bringing back Newsmax?  If not, a customer of over 25 years will cancel.

Thank you,

While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.

I have been an ATT customer for over 18 years and I’m appalled at the collusion involved in silencing (Edited per community guidelines) voices by ATT.
I, as well as family and friends will look for other providers if ATT goes through with this despicable game playing.

Why did you cancel it.  I worked 41 years for AT&T and thought they would not be afraid and go woke.  Why did you cancel NewsMax?  Do we all need to find a new provider that carries this channel?

I was an AT&T employee 41 years and had family employed there also.  I can not believe you would remove NewsMax.  I thought AT&T had more morals and values but I was wrong.  I guess we will all have to find another carrier.

Who gives you the authority to close a Thread? Do you work for AT&T?  I commented about Newsmax being cancelled and you closed the thread saying Directv is a separate company.  At&T still owns a share of DirectV & also HBO & maybe CNN? is that not correct? I (and many others) will also be cancelling HBO if this is not resolved with Newsmax being restored!!

Not sure who closed your thread but no, ATT no longer owns HBO or CNN. They are part of Warner Media which ATT got rid of. You won’t be punishing ATT or Directv by cancelling HBO. Your thread was closed I presume because this is the wrong forum. There is a Directv forum, if you wish to comment on Newsmax, you should post there, though I wouldn’t bother. There are so many Newsmax posts that many of them are being closed. Anyway, the Directv forums are at:

I believe Ottopylot knows more than you, see above.  ATT still owns 30% of DirectV.  How much are MSNBC and CNBC paying DirectV to carry their channels?  We are only asking for EQUITY!!!!

In a joint press release on Monday, AT&T and Discovery announced that WarnerMedia would be spun off and merged with Discovery to create a new stand-alone company. The combination would result in a content powerhouse and one of the largest global streaming players….including, HBO & CNN...Under the terms of the agreement, which will require regulatory approval, AT&T would receive $43 billion, and its shareholders would own 71% of the new company.

Please be advised I will be seeking a new wireless provider due to your ownership stake in Direct TV for its deplatforming of NEWSMAX television unless the decision is reversed.

You are only communicating with other customers here, not ATT. If you want to leave, leave. No one cares what your reason is. Your threat means nothing here.

@OttoPylot Apparently, Directv has not paid Newsmax anything to carry them. Now Newsmax wants them to. It would appear Directv considers any cost unreasonable but who knows. Like you said, it’s a business decision. My understanding is they are still negotiating but we don’t know if it was Directv that pulled the channel or if it was Newsmax. Historically Directv is willing to continue carrying a channel while they negotiate. It’s usually the channel that pulls their feed, not Directv.

It was DirecTV who pulled the plug on the 4th most watched cable news network, while they continue to pay less popular networks more than NEWSMAX asked for. Just a bit too fishy for me. But they are a private company.  Do what's best for shareholders, of course.

Do not drop Newsmax off of  your news lineup! You will loose a lot of customers that way. I listen to Newsmax all of the time. That is so biased for your company, I have been with you for a long long time with internet and with wireless phones. I have dropped Disney+ for their views on raising children and family values. Don't go woke or you will go broke!

Do NOT drop Newsmax! You dropped them. You did NOT do it as a typical business/money decision. Your company is Not allowing FREE SPEECH and Freedom of the Press. You are UNAMERICAN and deserve a huge boycott against ATT to let you feel the consequences. I will communicate to as many people, friends and family as possible to tell them to DROP ATT & DIRECT TV.

NewsMax is still free to report as they wish.

Therefore, their freedom is NOT being suppressed, snowflake.

I wrote the following over a year ago…but ran across these words again and felt the need to share once more…as the idjits and trolls have been relentlessly attacking me and anyone else who is fighting to bring awareness to the real truth…instead of the asinine manipulative inversions these narcopaths RELENTLESSLY keep spewing!

So here it is:

Our freedoms have been...and will continue to be...taken away if we continue to stand idly by.

In case you didn’t know....

There are six companies that control well over 90% of all the media in America.

Nearly everything you’ve been fed since 2000 has pretty much come from (and these companies are not in any particular order): CBS, Time Warner, GE, News-Corp, and...in my mind the most influential of all——Disney.

***To provide a bit of perspective here... 50 companies owned 90% of the media in 1983.***

That having been said....

I encourage everyone reading these words to do their own research...if you haven’t already been doing so.

I cannot stress enough that there is a hidden agenda being played out right in front of everyone’s eyes...one so sinister that if you haven’t already been doing your own digging...well...let’s just say please be prepared for a wild ride!

These manipulative inversions are pathetic at best...and being exposed faster than these asshats can continue to cover them!

The rabbit hole runs deep, my friends.....

Just know that it’s important to always remain positive and faithful...and trust that “good” always triumphs in the end!

Stay Strong

Oh….

For the “woke” nincompoops on here stating to go get the app… You are part of the sinister problem…and obviously missing the point as to why this is part of a much larger evil agenda.

PS….

I will be switching to Verizon soon!

Why did AT&T drop OAN and Newsmax? And don't feed me the line about I can use their apps. I already know that. Also, don't tell me that viewership was too low. One of the few reasons I have cable tv is because I wanted to get OAN and Newsmax. Now AT&T has dropped both in an effort to sensor (Edited per community guidelines) opinion. I will be dropping AT&T Direct TV in the near future. I will also be contacting my congresswoman and senators.
