DirecTV (including U-Verse and Stream) reach deal for NFLN

At the time, the Pirates/Pittsburgh thing made sense. The owner had the idea that Columbus baseball fans would all be Pirates fans, especially since Columbus was the minor league affiliate for Pittsburgh.

Well...that obviously never happened.

Columbus remains part of the territory...there just isn't any demand for the Pittsburgh channel.

Out of all the providers in Columbus, only two have ATTSN Pittsburgh. U-Verse was one, but the channel was pulled when U-Verse never made it to Pittsburgh.

This is an interesting update:

Everything I'm seeing is that NFL RedZone will be part of the HD Premium Tier.

HOWEVER...I'm now seeing NFL RedZone on channel 629, which is an SD channel.

This is the only time I've ever seen an HD Premium Tier channel on any three-digit channel with one notable exception: Smithsonian Channel, which is available on U-300 or higher OR the HD Premium Tier.

So this is weird... was flipping thru the channels just now and on the RedZone Network, they are showing a game from 2019?? But it's not listed on the guide and no mention on Scott Hanson's (RedZone Host) Twitter page.

We tried to add NFL Redzone today as indicated on channel 1629 but after one half hour talking to ATT we were told that we couldn't add Redzone unless we had received an email from them offering it. Made no sense whatsoever. We checked and couldn't find an email so we were refused adding it even though we would have moved up to the premium tier. Has anyone else heard of this?

That's odd.

Call back on Thursday or Friday during regular business hours. In the past, they've offered me one month free.

I say then because the one month would end on Sunday, October 8th.

I couldn't order through the cable box because I got an error for account type restricted which I assume is because the account is serviced through my building and not me. So I called AT&T and the service rep didn't even know they had Redzone package. They said they couldn't add it on until it was live on 9/10. Anyone else have an issue ordering over the phone?

WE are having a problem too adding RedZone though the explanation given to us was we weren't sent an email offering the service despite our TV showing Redzone on channel 1629 was available with HD Premium channel. Like you it seemed the rep had no idea what Redzone was and how we could get it.

Much to my surprise today when we decided to spend some time watching the redzone channel we were great by a message that stated that we had to subscribe to the premium tier in order to receive it, we are already subscribed to the premium tier.

I thought the community members were allowed to edit their comments, but evidently not that's why I'm adding an additional comment.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to use the myat&t app that I have installed on my phone to have a chat session with at&t customer service, as most people already know most if not ALL of that department has been moved overseas to save money. The first agent I chatted with tried to be as helpful as possible, but when I could see that I wasn't getting anywhere I asked to speak with a supervisor who in turn I was connected to. The agent asked if I had received an email concerning the nfl network channel & nfl redzone channel, I said not that I was aware of. I stated that we had already received the nfl network on channel 1630 but so far nfl redzone on channel 1629 wasn't active yet. The agent informed me that as far as he knew the nfl redzone channel was being enabled by a subscribers zip code which sounded rather strange especially since I was already able to watch the nfl network, he didn't seem to have a valid response for that.

I was so very glad to see that the two groups that were in negotiations have reached what's supposedly a multi year settlement so subscribers won't have to do without some channels again for awhile (hopefully).
