Loss of channels
AT&T has failed to properly prepare for the anticipated end of contract negotiation with Nexstar - resulting in the loss of ABC station, a MAJOR network. This continues to happen, as in the past, when other channels were removed from the lineup - as your customers continue to pay increased costs in service. We set up another TV(purchased an antennae) that would give us this basic channel for the interim - assuming we will get the channel back at some time in the future! I think it's time to contact other providers who can provide continuing service that we PAY for and don't get with AT&T.

I received the local channel connector within 2 days of ordering it however NBC still doesn't come in. I don't know if it's because there are no sub channels or what. If someone knows please let me know....
Thank you

I don't trust people or businesses that lie to me. Directv Now says that Nexstar has pulled their channels. Nexstar says that it ain't them but it is Directv (Now)/AT&T that is the problem. Now I'm telling you right now that if somebody don't come clean about this fiasco and the lies...I will drop Directv Now in a heartbeat. You jacked up the price $10.00 and screwed your customers out of at least 2 big time channels. I think it's time for the customers that pay your bills to boycott/drop Directv/AT&T. I think it got jacked when AT&T got involved. This is what happens when businesses are more concerned about the dollar than the customer. If you stay with Directv, you can bet that they will jack up the price again. DO THE RIGHT THING!!!

I have been back and forth with Nexstar today and this evening. Nexstar was kind enough, after hours to prove to me that they can NOT drop channels. They showed me that it is ALL AT&T's GREED is why we don't have CBS. Nexstar even extended AT&T's contract. AT&T ignored the end date, therefor we don't have CBS.
AT&T has been trying to BULLY everyone for a few years now, so they've made it appear that it's Nexstar's fault, when it's theirs.
The top people, CEO and others aren't happy with their picket fences, now they want to build a Trump Like Wall around their property and for us and Nexstar to pay for it. Other media people like, Spectrum had no problem.
So, here it is: I'm member of a privet Group that Boycotts anyone for a good reason. We do this by Boycotting Advertisers. We are more than 50,000 strong. We are looking into going after CBS advertisers to make CBS upset with AT&T. That's just for starters.
Have a great week people.

Here we go again 😞
Realize that the corporation that owns the stations pulled your channel, not DirecTV. This is an all too common negotiating tactic used by these corporations to extort more money from TV service providers. None are immune, so even switching providers won't help.
You will need to use an off-air antenna until they allow DirecTV to provide them again. If you can receive the station with an off-air antenna, this is a good time to request DirecTV’s Local Channel Connector (if you have HR44/HR54). It’s free. And some folks are getting a credit on their account, too. Call DirecTV …. 1 800 531 5000
You'll also want to contact the corporation that owns these stations. Request that they allow DirecTV to continue carrying them while negotiations continue. And ask them why providers like Dish, DirecTV and Comcast must pay them anything when they get to use our public airwaves for FREE?!? After all, these service providers increase their overall viewership and advertising revenue. They're shooting themselves in the foot!
The FCC and Congress could easily fix this. Just allow service providers to deliver an out-of-area station when local stations get greedy. But I fear that the broadcast TV lobby is too powerful to ever let that happen.
Keep up on the latest updates at https://tvpromise.att.com/

Warnings are given via programmingchanges.att.com, in USA today and here.
I'm surprised they didn't run anything on the bottom of the screen...but then again, it seemed like Nexstar didn't expect this to happen.

So all that must be true because Nexstar says so?
What actual "proof" did they show show you?
And why just CBS when other networks are involved depending on what locations Nexstar serves?
Personally I don't care if the channels ever come back. This conflict took out only one local channel in my area. One that I always had hidden anyhow because it's crap. But even if every single local was blocked I still wouldn't care. I get them all with my antenna.
Good luck with "boycott". Me, not interested.
Update: This post now no longer makes sense since it appears my reply is to a post that apparently has since been deleted. The original post was moved here from another forum since it referenced the poster's communication with Nexstar and Nexstar's denial they caused the blackout. Not sure though why the post was deleted though. Maybe just me writing this here would is sufficient to get this one deleted too! In fact, moderators, if you are reading this you should have deleted mine if you deleted what I was replying to.

The following has been sent to Nexstar as well:
To whom it may concern,
I'm not sure who the real culprit is due to all the finger-pointing both sides are doing at one another (and as far as the customer is concerned, both sides are at fault). One thing is crystal clear however, and that is the bigwigs at both AT&T and Nexstar need to stop being children and sit down at a face to face meeting and work this out like adults while also working as companies that are going to put their customers first instead of the profit margins first. I realize that as businesses, both entities must make a certain profit to sustain themselves while providing great content to their customers, but when blackouts like this occur, it's because both sides are putting their bank account instead of the customer first and that is a great way to not only harm your respective reputations, but lose money in the long run. Customers are already paying pretty hefty bills to get the content they want, and for them it is money down the drain when content they are paying for is not being delivered.
I'm not interested in the canned responses/propaganda/threats. I (like thousands+ of others) just want the issue resolved and it's something only those at the top of the food chain can make happen. That being said statements like mine need to be sent to those in charge of this outcome so they can see that they are impacting real people and that this is not some game.

Get my local NBC station back on U-VERSE NOW! AT&T is a big bully & your costumers should Not pay for your inability to come to an agreement! You also could have chosen to allow the station to continue during your negotiations and didn’t!!
