Loss of channels
AT&T has failed to properly prepare for the anticipated end of contract negotiation with Nexstar - resulting in the loss of ABC station, a MAJOR network. This continues to happen, as in the past, when other channels were removed from the lineup - as your customers continue to pay increased costs in service. We set up another TV(purchased an antennae) that would give us this basic channel for the interim - assuming we will get the channel back at some time in the future! I think it's time to contact other providers who can provide continuing service that we PAY for and don't get with AT&T.

It is Nexstar that will not return the feed.

Call the retentions office during regular business hours and see what they can do. Remember that kindness and politeness go a long way.

If you have an HR44/54 Genie call DTV to get their LCC device, the included flat antenna may work depending on distance from the transmitter and terrain. When a channel removes the feed it is for all methods including using your DTV credentials to log into their website. There are other payed streaming services that get the programs after a day or two of airing.

Yes everybody wants to know when this will be resolved. But that is a question that is impossible to answer until it happens. You are asking when two big companies will come to an agreement. There is no magical guaranteed time on when that will happen. And none of us can predict the future.
Until negotiations resolve there is still regular antenna for the free broadcast.

If I sign up for CBS streaming service can I deduct that monthly amount from my AT&T bill? This dispute has gone on too long and makes me regret switching to U-Verse.

Same here deep in the heart of Texas...AT&T seems only to care about profit margin, couldn't care less about providing service to their customers.

AT&T isn't concerned about this "temporary" loss of service, they know we are trapped in a contract so we have no recourse other than to pay the termination fee or shut up and color. They "provide" these forums so we can vent, but they probably don't even check them. Trying to call customer service is a joke, and local channel connector or antenna doesn't work in all locations, would be curious if it works anywhere other than next door to the tower.

The best and quickest way to get local channels is to change providers...or AT&T could pay Nexstar and get us what we all thought we were getting. The bit in the contract about shareholders tells us "profits before customers" is the AT&T motto.

If we are going to be without a major network such as NBC for most of summer and into fall, why shouldn’t we receive a refund on our bill?

I do not understand how ATT and NEXSTAR cannot resolve this issue with as much money as subscribers pay for service.
If this is not resolved, and my channels restored by September 1st, I will be changing providers. Two months is too long and there has not been any proration for loss of network access.
