@larryas I hve been asking since they retired Media Share a few years back. A product manager stated that "we'd be looking into it." I think they forgot.

they have said that not enough people signed up for this.
i though it didn't cost anything.
i'm not sure that is real reason.

It was not that enough people signed up for it, @larryas, it was that not enough people (supposedly) used it. That is what I was told by a U-Verse product manager. Yes it was a free app for TV customers w/U-Verse HSI.
I'm sure that a bean counter deep in AT&T's HQ said "we are paying x a month for Media Share but only x subscribers are using it." That type of "analysis" is most likely what did the service in. My contention is that the service was poorly publicised. I showed it off several times to other U-Verse subscribers and they had no idea that was even possible. I miss the service but apparently it didn't have enough ROI for the bean counter. smh.
You do know that many smart bluray players, smart TV's and media streamers offer services similar to it? Yes they are not as simple as Media Share was.

@larryas - To display the content from your computer or portable device, the easiest & least expensive & best quality is a physical connection.
My computer is connected to my TV HDMI (see my avatar). I have also connected my iphone & ipad.
You can connect a DVI output to an HDMI input or an RGB output to component input.
Go here for adapters & learning center - https://sewelldirect.com/learning-center/pctotv
If you are using a digital camera with a storage card - many TVs have a slot for that card. Not as good as connecting the computer, but if you have it, you can us it til you get the computer connected.
Post if you have questions.

The biggest problem was the Win 7 Win Media Player would not do Media Share and that pretty much was the death knell. As far as I know they never got it working on that version of the Win Media Player and bye-bye Media Share. 😉

i contacted them and they said
No. AirServer is an AirPlay receiver for your Mac or PC. AirServer will accept and display AirPlay streams and mirrored images from your iOS devices or mirroring-enabled computers. AirServer cannot create a mirrored image of your desktop. AirServer also cannot send an image from your computer to another device.

That's what I thought when I took a quick look at their webpage.

OOPs - Sorry, I got carried away - Airserver is for when the computer is already wired to the TV & you can cast a poratble device to the computer/TV.
To cast from the computer to the TV get a chromecast & plug it in to the HDMI port.
\
I believe apple TV also casts from portablble devices to the apple TV connected HDMI to the TV.
Connected simarly to the TV as the chromecast, but, not sure if it can cast from a computer. IF your pictures are on a portable device it would work, but is more expensive. You would want to be exercizing the web access aspect.

By "several", do you mean a smart tv or smart blu-ray player? If so, do you have streaming in Windows Media Player turned on? Are your pictures in C:\Users\Public\Public Pictures?
