Problems with the Ipad specific version of Easy Remote App

I'm new to uverse and would like to get this app to work on my ipad. I have already setup the iphone easy remote app on 3 different iPhones and it works flawlessly on the iPhones. However, setting up the IPad version of this app specifically for the Ipad has been problematic. I keep getting an error 3001 right after I accept the app's agreement.

I'm running ios 7.0.4 on my ipad which is two years old - Model A1458(late 2012).
The main Uverse App works on my Ipad but the Easy Remote App does not.

I've reset gateway multiple times and uninstalled/reinstalled app multiple times along with a reboot of ipad after each uninstall.

Still just get the error 3001 message.

Hi @Kbsager,

I am sorry about the issues you are having with the easy remote app. If possible, try to upgrade your iPad to ios 8. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks David. I suspected the version iOS would be the first consideration for a resolution. Unfortunately, upgrading to iOS 8 takes available install space that I don't currently have on my iPad and I will need the time to rework, review, backup, delete... Etc., etc. before upgrading to ios8. This probably means several hours plus on a weekend. 😞 Disappointing that the app is not backwards compatible if in fact that's the issue.

Interestingly... I've downloaded the IPhone Version of the Easy Remote app onto my I IPAD and the iPhone version of Easy Remote works flawlessly on my IPAD as it does on my iPhone. It just doesn't look as pretty as I suspect the iPad version is ultimately a better solution for Ipads ... unless you're like many of us IPad owners who don't immediately upgrade your os every time there is a major OS upgrade issued. Anyways- it's a workaround for the time being. Gotta wonder though... why the iPhone app is backwards compatible with older versions of iOS ... but the iPad app is not backwards compatible with those who haven't yet upgraded iOS.

Thanks again for your reply. Not the one I wanted to hear but honestly, the one I felt I was probably gonna get first. Best Regards, Karl

One more suggestion for AT&T's U-verse APP team, David. If the downloaded current version of IPad Easy Remote does in fact require the IPad to be running iOS 8 or higher... U-Verse's App Team developers or coders should consider putting a version check on the IPad Easy Remote App so any U-verse customers attempting to download the app from Apple's App Store will get a message that this app requires iOS version 8 or higher and will not be allowed the download. This would save Uverse time, effort, and money not to mention alleviate reputation risk associated with frustrated end users who downloaded the app to a device running an non compatible iOS. My experience has been most quality apps contain these version checks.

Hi,

Thank you for the feedback. I definitely agree with you on that. When developing the app, we always try to test with the latest firmware, but we definitely need to take into account others that are on the older firmware.

I am glad you have found a temporary work around, and when/if you ever upgrade to iOS 8, let us know if that fixes it, and if you are still having problems, we will be glad to help.
