Shows on demand on app and online but not on Uverse TV?
I was on my uverse app on my cell phone and found some cool shows on Adult Swim I haven't seen in a while. Specifically Saul of the Molemen and Sealab 2021. These shows are also available on demane online, on the uverse website. But I hate watching stuff on my phone or laptop. I looked them up on my TV (through the cablebox) but they're not there! Just online and on the app, but not on a TV. What gives? Is there any way to watch these shows on demand on my TV? Why on earth would the catalogs be different?

The catalog of shows and episodes differs between the different platforms. You can't count on stuff you can view online or on your phone to be in the onDemand screens on your TV. Likewise, you can't always watch something on your Tablet that you can watch on your phone. And, you often can't watch stuff on your phone if you connect to a TV via HDMI.

Click the ATT Customer Care link in my signature, send the PM, explain your Adult swim On Demand situation.
Include your account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on.
Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply. Good luck 😉

Hi @valerielevitt - there will always be more available online and on the app than there will be on the TV Video on Demand. Storage space is severely limited on the TV, compared to online and app delivery methods. It's the same with the HBO and Showtime apps. You go to the app and there is most likely going to be every season and episode of a show BUT if you go to the TV HBO VoD, you may only see three episodes from the current season.
There are workarounds - some phones and tablets have HDMI outs, so you can send the signal to your TV, if so equipped.

"some phones and tablets have HDMI outs, so you can send the signal to your TV, if so equipped"
Yes, there are physical connections and wi-fi software connections available to display or "cast" the display onto TV screens. I would like to caution that it is not as simple as that. Similar to the OP difference & sport channel difference between channel access & actual content,
I have my Mac-mini computer connected to a TV via HDMI & never had any u-verse.com content blocked.
I have both the iphone & Ipad version of the u-verse app loaded on my ipad because I prefer the iphone version of the remote. If I try to use the iphone version to play content, it is blocked & recommends loading the ipad version. (Contractual??)
When I connect the ipad to the TV via HDMI the U-verse ipad app blocks the content. The error message specifically mentions "large screen detected". (Contractual??)
I believe there are also differences between "live" & on-demand.
To come full circle - Isn't the U-verse IP technology closer to computer technology than it is to TV broadcast technology. And, U-verse gas "spinning wheel? apps that access info/data.
at&t should be able to easily access the on-line version of content on the TV app so that the two have the same content, ae well as look & feel.

One other thing to add......The Uverse.com site is powered by HULU and there is no HULU on demand via Uverse service. I would suspect that's why it's different.

This is only true in part. The Uverse.com is a agregation of many different online video resources. It's a wrapper around Showtime Anywhere, etc., etc
And, which devices are allowed to see what is the subject of much negotiations during carriage negotiations. Each screen (TV, Computer, Phone, Tablet, HDMI out on computer/phone/tablet) are all subject to agreement. Adding the online streaming capability to the STB would likely just open more issues to negotiate.

Greetings everyone,
I notice that the Uverse App (iphone and ipad) have On Demand features that Uverse TV On Demand does not have. I have used Chat and and called Technical Support and got two entirely different answers. I'd like to know the real reason why.
Specifics: Right now (2/28) Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides (TNT) is On Demand on the App. I can watch it on both the iPad and iPhone.
It is not On Demand on the TV. I have searched for it by channel, by typing the title in, and by "Free Movies". It is simply not there. Per my iPad, the movie goes away 03/01, so if this is looked at after 01 March 2017, these statements will most likely have changed.
AT&T Chat told me to restart my UVerse box and modem. Recommending that I do this every 15 days regardless.
Telephone Technical Support said that's just the way it is, and that they don't always agree with one another.
I don't know which one is correct, I do know that if they are both called On Demand, and not the same options, I think it's stupid and would like to know who to send a formal complaint. I struggle wrapping my head around the fact that they share a name, yet are different.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

I read through some of the other posts and saw that Uverse TV and the App are just different due to the technical restrictions. I also read, I wish I had copied from where, that the App and the UVerse.com will be the same. I will connect the computer to a TV when I get home and it will solve my issues. I'd still like to know who to send a formal complaint / suggestion.
Update: it is 1736 Central Standard Time on 28 Febuary.
I can no longer see Pirates of the Caribbean on uVerse.com.
It was never On Demand on the UVerse TV.
I can still see it on the my Uverse app.
I called Technical Support back, and they said that all three are different in fact. That is three contacts with technical support and three different answers.
I'd like to understand how this is ACTUALLY suppose to work, and an explanation why it is not.
Thanks.

Hi @rebar104,
As your posted, the online libraries are going to be more extensive than U-verse TV at home.
We checked the app and uverse.com. We did see Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End on both uverse.com and via the app for On Demand.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest is Live TV only on the app and uverse.com.

I see that. The problem, which is now past the due date 03/01 - was Pirates of the Caribbean - On Stranger Tides. Truth is, I own the movie. I am just trying to figure out why / how all this works.
I am disheartened to learn that with three, now four, seperate contacts with UVerse support I keep getting different answers.
I know how it DID work. How SHOULD it work?

How can I tell if it's On Demand (App and UVerse.com) or Live TV?
Had another issue today with Bourne Identity. It is on TNT, I can see it, it plays a commerical, then nothing. No errors, no nothing. Chat says it is an error and is in fact not available, and shouldn't be there. But I can set up a recording?
Bourne Supremancy, does NOT have this problem. I just don't understand how this is all suppose to work.

Currently, at this very moment. Bourne Identity will not play from UVerse.com, but will play on the UVerse App using the same wifi (home) network. Again, Chat said it was an error and was not available.
Does anyone understand this enough to explain it to me? It is infuriating.
