When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?

When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?  It's disrupting my service in watching WFSS (channel 8 - ABC) in my area.  Customers should not have to deal with the petty problems between Uverse and TEGNA.  Work it out or lose a long time subscriber.

I can only speak for myself.  It is unacceptable to pay $100+ per month and be subjected to AT&T refusal to broadcast a local station in my market.  I am month to month now.  Fascinating the choice to just pick and choose the most popular productions to not show.  I will not allow AT&T to use my money and choices as leverage.  Fix this week or I leave and I hope many do the same.  And you folks probably think you serve us.  Disgusting!!!

You charge me way too much for supposedly 485 channels, 460 of which I never watch and wouldn't pay for. 450 of them would go out of business if you didn't subsidize them through your "bundles".  Let the customer choose and pay for what they want to watch instead of dropping the channels  WE want.  Get WKYC back on my service NOW or lose me as a customer.  You are not supplying me the channels listed on your contract.

As a long time subscriber of Directv, it is very upsetting to see my favorite channel be disconnected from the cable channels that I pay to watch.  DirectTV and Tegna is in conflict with negotiations to keep American Broadcasting Channel (ABC) to their northern California customers.  I have been a fan of ABC (Channel 10) for the last 45 of my 68 years and continue to enjoy all of the news and TV shows that appear.  I urge DirectV to finalize some mutual agreement with Tegna to bring back this channel that seniors can continue to enjoy.  The end result could be more devastating for your company since it all boils down to the bottomline.

According to TEGNA,  they provide local and national partners custom, targeted and innovative campaigns through TEGNA Marketing Solutions (TMS). TMS is a one-stop shop that helps businesses thrive through an unmatched suite of services and solutions that reach consumers across television, digital and over-the-top (OTT) platforms, including Premion, TEGNA’s OTT advertising service.  Supposely,  "In everything we do, we are driven by our strongly held values and our stated purpose to serve the greater good of our communities".  If this is the case, why aren't they considering the greater good which is there customers.  Please finalize a deal that is mutually agreeable for your company, TEGNA, and all customers.

Unfortunately, it is always the bottomline with these companies, profit over loss.  Providing excellent customer service and satisfaction is no longer priority.  Consumers need to ban together and get Congress involved to stop these companies that have a monology on services that we (customers) want.

How do I submit my concern over the lost channels and severe inconvenience this has caused my family. How long will this go on?

When can I expect a credit to my account for the loss of channels?

I've only had this service for two weeks and im already regretting it. I am do not wish to contact Tenga per your suggestion.  I would like you to resolve your dispute with Tenga and In the mealtime compensate your clients for the loss.

Tegna and DirecTV's carriage agreement came up. Since Tegna wants a better deal they chose to pull their feed away, as is their right. It is unfortunate this happened as you started with DirecTV. Bear in mind, no TV provider is immune from this situation. They don't own the channels.

How long will it go on is an unknown. There is not a set date/time when two entities will agree. Hopefully it is not much longer, but the simple fact is negotiations take as long as they must.

Negotiation is a two-way street, plus only Tegna may return the feed. So you refuse to contact Tegna about the situation and complain to DirecTV only? That seems a bit tunnel vision.

If you log into your account (actual account, not this public forum), you can see if you qualify for a one-time courtesy credit like some others have. This is not a requirement as all TV providers have that clause that channels can change at any time, with this being a prime reason why (carriage negotiation).

Adding bold, italics, and underlining to the entire post doesn't change the reality of the situation. Just encourages many people to ignore it as awkward to read. The channel will be back when both sides agree and not sooner. Once that happens it will be a couple years or so before this is a possibility again for this exact channel, depending on how long the next carriage agreement is for.

You can check announcements regarding current negotiation issues here:

The local stations that have been dropped due to your idiotic dispute are, also, not working with your suggested work around.  If you don't fix this by the time my next show is being recorded, I'm dropping you like a hot potato and will complain on every single social venue that I can find.

Don't give me any of those excuses that I see on the other posts about it not being your fault, just do what you have to do and fix it.  Now!

This is ridiculous we pay a arm and a leg for service and we have to deal with this crap. What is directv going to do to compensate the customers. We just might go to cable if we have to.

This is ridiculous, missing local channels 9 and 20 which we pay for our local channels which means no local news on weather, yes we could watch the news on another channel but we like 9 news.  But what makes you really upset is if you want to watch the Broncos NO but you can watch them on a Spanish channel I DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH, I would like to see a credit towards everyone's bills for your mishap in figuring a way to settle this so called agreement, this is outrageous where is your customer service to keep your customers happy.  Shame on you just keep raising prices and pocket the money the heck with our customers while you laugh all the way to the bank.

You don't pay anything more for your locals and it was you local that removed their feed because DTV doesn't want to raise your bill even higher by paying that you local wants to renew the contract but bottom line the bill will go up.

@JeffWatson

Reality check. Tegna owns the station only they can return the feed. Yes both are in the negotiations, but it is Tegna who chose to go "dark" in order to leverage customers. Just regular negotiation option.

Getting a new provider will not save you. Remember, no TV provider owns the stations so they all go through this. This is simply AT&T/DirecTV's turn with Tegna. Doesn't matter how long you've been with them, you aren't guaranteed the channel. It will be back once they both agree. Be patient, or even plug in a regular antenna for the free broadcast (may even get additional channels). Better than being a Veruca (But I want it now!).

I pay for the NFL Package but now that my channel 12 (KPNX) is blacked out I can't watch the Sunday Night Game. Why can't you broadcast the the Sunday night game on one of the 700 channels until you get this dispute resolved and I get my station back?

Connect an OTA antenna to your TV's OTA tuner.

You plug a regular over-the-air (OTA) antenna to your TV (provided it has an OTA tuner as a few might not). Then you get whatever locals are within range, including any channels you wouldn't get otherwise (such as sub-channels).

Other than that, be patient. DirecTV and the local affiliate (Tegna) are negotiating the next carriage agreement. Tegna will return their channels once they agree to a new carriage deal.
