When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?
When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA? It's disrupting my service in watching WFSS (channel 8 - ABC) in my area. Customers should not have to deal with the petty problems between Uverse and TEGNA. Work it out or lose a long time subscriber.

I’m paying a lot for ATT TV. No NBC is a deal breaker for me. I’d like to know ASAP when when NBC will be back up in zip code 98584.

We have been customers of Directv for over 20 years. Had other stations that did the same thing as Tanga is doing right now.
This has been going on for to long now all the new programs will be coming on in 2021that are shown on King 5 and Kong 16 in Seattle.
With this Virus going on people depend on good programming to stay home and watch local stations.
Tanga and Directv should get their act together and give us back our programs on Seattle king 5 and kong16. And make it sooner than later.
We pay you to give us good programs ,
If you didn't have customers you wouldn't have money in y'all pocket.

We are approaching the third weekend without service from TEGNA stations, which in our case is our local CBS affiliate.
This is ridiculous. Directv and TEGNA are acting like a couple of spoiled children. Reasonable people can, and should, disagree reasonably and look for and find common ground.
If the current impasse lasts through the NFL regular season and continues into the playoffs, I would suspect many customers like ourselves will be turned off from Directv through no fault of their own.
Fix this mess, now!

When is the TEGNA contract going to be resolved? How about doing it for a Holiday present to all the users who are still paying their bills.

I think TEGNA & AT&T are both money hungry. Wish they could act like adults and not put the customers in the middle. Got $20 off my bill. Big deal. I want my stations back You act like Congress. Take your salary but Do NOTHING. AT&T put on your big boy pants & get this done NOW. And AT&T do not raise our rates anymore either. You also make enough money for your fair service. Invest in making your product better in the San Diego area.

So I got my $20 off my bill that will show up sometime. Was on hold for 15 minutes to talk with At&T & then could not hear the woman on the other end. No telling what country she was in. I just wish that TEGNA & AT&T would not act like our do nothing Congress. They both want more $$ & we all suffer. TEGNA wants to make their investors happy & AT&T wants to do the same but not improve their service. No wonder people are going to different avenues to get their entertainment. I just miss CBS here in the San Diego area.

We need to be clear what is going on here. There is a lot of bad info from ATNT workers or people sided with them.
ATNT is trying hard to sell off uverse and direct TV. This leads to a few consumer problems. They do not have any obligation to take on a new deal that they will be stuck paying on until they find a buyer. A great deal here for them also means it being easier to find a buyer. It is also much cheaper for ATNT to just pay a very small percent of customers 20 dollars instead of taking on an expensive new deal. Why do you think ATNT isn't giving effected customs their $20 without any hassle? They clearly know which people fall into the areas who are having blocked access. This is again because this is saving ATNT money.
ATNT is also a 300 billion dollar company. They are presenting tenga as this money hungry unreasonable company. I do not imagine in any way that they just offering ATNT some insanely overpriced deal. No, it's that other service providers are willing to pay fair market value. ATNT is only interested in getting rid of uverse/direct tv all together and have no interest in keeping customers happy or paying for a new contract when they can just pay a small % bucks...
The worst thing about this all is that until ATNT finds a buyer, you should not expect this to be settled. It could be a really long time until we see it back.

@Marshrat
You think you should get $5 a DAY for a single channel? Seriously? No channel is worth that, certainly not a local channel that is free over the regular airways. That would be about an entire bill for one measly channel.
If you log into your account you may get an offer of a one-time $20 credit as a courtesy. There is no requirement of this as channels are subject to change at any time, as stated in a clause all TV providers have in their Terms of Service. They don't own the channels so can never guarantee a channel will always be there.
Only the owner of the channel (Tegna) can return it as they have the broadcast rights. They could choose to return it as a sign of good faith for negotiations, but have chosen to withhold it to leverage us customers. So in the respect, it is Tegna holding us "hostage".
Being a customer of AT&T for "over 58 years" doesn't make the request any more ludicrous. No single channel is worth $150 a month ($5 per day). To value a channel at such a absurdly high amount seems a bit addictive.

This is the point I want to make EXTREMELY clear for people.
WHY is ATNT not giving you your $20 credit unless you log in, fill out a form or call? They have your address and billing info, they could do this for every effected customer if they wanted, but they choose not to do this.
Ask yourself why this is. ATNT is NOT the good guy or victim here. Please do not be fooled.

I would say the reason is that there are people who can live without the channel for awhile or don't even care about it to begin with. So financially it makes more sense to give only to the people who actually are in a tizzy about the channel. Why waste money on people who don't give 2 shakes about the channel?
Certainly not saying AT&T is the "good guy" or "victim". It is 2 entities in negotiations. However a better deal for Tegna means that much more on top of already increasing rates over the years. So AT&T keeping rates the same (or ideally lowering if they can) helps minimize the effect on us customers from other channels increasing their costs.
I say it is more that a few other consumers out there are playing the "victim". I am astounded where they keep calling AT&T/Tegan "children" or "put the big boy pants on", etc. I find that people whining so much and throwing a tantrum over locals that are free over-the-air (OTA), certainly not what most of us go to pay TV for, is a true show of being "childish".

You do realize ATNT is saving a boatload of money from this though, right?
Them not having to pay Tenga anything on a deal FAR outweighs them giving a small number of people $20. Far, far outweighs it. Their bill is significantly cheaper by restricting service to basic TV. Now if they were actually doing the appropriate thing and paying everyone they know is effected, that could be a different story.
They will tell you that "this happens all the time with providers" and that's simply not true. At least not for basic television, and there is the fact that they ARE trying to sell off these brands, so the sad thing is that this probably is not going to get resolved any time soon. ATNT simply just doesn't care and has no incentive to agree to a fair-market deal or anything that isn't seen as a "great deal" for potential buyers.

They aren’t saving anything they are still paying the past agreement. Tegna is demanding a billion additional dollars per year
While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.

This happens more often in recent years with local affiliates. Nexstar tried the same with DirecTV and now with Dish. This is just Tegna's turn with AT&T (DirecTV and U-Verse).
The fact that people are getting so upset about one channel (in some areas 2) that is free over-the-air for free, when pay TV is about all the other channels you cannot get otherwise, is what I find absurd. You'd think their family will die without the channel.
Costs of everything goes up over the years. If they didn't try to slow/stop it, then our bills would jump up even more. And the same people who complain about their channels being gone will turn around and complain at the next price adjustment. Until a way can be found to stop the increasing costs from local affiliates, this will continue with all the TV providers.
