DIRECTV dropping OANN?
How could you bow down to the WOK cancel culture demands to dropping OANN? They do not lie! The "big lie of the 2020 election" is absolutely true. There is mountains of evidence of the election steal. All the misinformation comes from liberals not conservatives! My husband and I will be dropping Directv if you go thru this in April. I will convince all our friends and family to do likewise. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our country. Shame on you!!!!

You must call DirecTV and AT&T to cancel your respective services. They will not auto cancel upon a certain outcome, and you cannot cancel here. This is a community forum, not official support, so your account is not affected.
TV providers keep channels through their current carriage agreements. Not renewing the agreement with OAN when it comes due has nothing to do with other networks that are not affiliated with it.
Of the channels available, watch what you like and ignore the ones you don't. If you cannot live without OANN, then certainly call DirecTV and cancel and then find another provider that has it.

Communication blackout.
Truth Social will be a counter measure.
The only reason that are canceling OANN is because they are the only ones who are putting the evidence of a stolen election.
Newsmax and Fox won't air the evidence.
Don't worry, it will all come out on Trump's Truth Social. They can't stop it
Think Trump's EO September 18th about foreign interference in election
This is exactly what they knew the deep state would do.
Think Spaceforce.
They caught them all

You are not bullied into paying anything. You pay for a package of channels. If you don't want your money going towards any particular channel, then lower to a package that doesn't have it or find another provider. That is how all the TV providers are.
There are many for and against OANN. But in the end, this is DirecTV/AT&T's decision to let the current agreement run out without renewing.

Direct TV has a huge listening base for OAN, so it has nothing to do with lack of patronage. Decisions are typically made because there is not an agreed upon amount of $$$. If this is greed from the part of AT&T, which is no new news, then shame on them for creating a biased decision when other stations that air the same type of news, aka, Fox, is allowed to stay. I would like to see them drop CNN who is declining daily. Now that would be a financial dump making a logical choice.

I have been a Direct TV/AT&T customer for over 40 years. If you cancel OANN I will be forced to go to Dish and Spectrum. The cancellation of OANN is part of the cancel culture and it's hard to believe you have bowed to a minority! I am not one of those that believes in boycotts but enough is enough

There is this mega-thread dedicated to the discussion. So, everyone can have their say in one location instead of spamming all over the place getting in the way of other issues people come to the forum for.
I have no political agenda, never have. I only pointed out that political discussions are not an approved topic in the forum, regardless of what wing you may or may not be.
I have no customers. Like others in the forum, I am another customer. I do not work for AT&T/DirecTV.
Try stick to simple facts instead of making wild accusations from ridiculous assumptions.

Thanks you bet I will call. I was pointing that other news networks have been far more grievous. When the time comes for others to renew their current carriage agreements. Will the same standard apply?
- Juniper "watch what you like and ignore the ones you don't" if only you would have told this to the ones doxing OAN

If OANN is dropped, this 7 year customer leaves with them. There are other providers that value customer service over political agendas. Right now I have a choice of what I want to watch. I choose news from sources I trust and OANN is one of those news sources. Other customers may value CNN or MSNBC. That’s fine with me. They are offered that choice and I’m certainly not complaining about that option being made available to them. They pay for that service. I expect my TV provider to offer the same courtesy and freedom to me. It’s simple, take away choices I want and you are no longer my TV provider. Very simple.

I don't claim to be "a-political". Only that I have no political agenda in this forum, especially since such discussions are against the forum rules.
Many sources are inferring from other outside factors, or just plain assuming, why AT&T/DirecTV is dropping OANN, though it seems the company's response is it was a decision resulting from a "routine internal review" that did not go into more specifics. To be clear, I am not saying anyone's belief on the actual reason is wrong or right, only that this forum is not the place for political discussion from any side.

Jupiter, your comments sound and read more like a moderator for Direct TV than a consumer. If it quacks like a duck...

Juniper, I disagree, I have the lowest package that direct tv offers. but if they are removing channels I like to watch, then that is bullying me into watching other channels I don't normally watch or like. direct tv has been getting more expensive for less channel selection ever since being acquired by AT&T. I was going to cancel about a year ago because of the pricing vs channel value, but was given long standing customer discount which reduced my bill by about $40.00, so I stayed. but if they are going to eliminate channels like OANN for political reasons, then I'm out. & it is for political reasons because it's all over the news & internet that they are buckling to Bidens request to get rid of certain channels that don't view him in a positive manner.

I have told this to those on both sides. Recent ones who are crying that it is going away and those that were crying when it was first announced that DirecTV would be carrying it. There is no way to make all viewers happy. There is the option of a favorites list, so I say use it.
