DIRECTV dropping OANN?

How could you bow down to the WOK cancel culture demands to dropping OANN?  They do not lie!  The "big lie of the 2020 election" is absolutely true. There is mountains of evidence of the election steal. All the misinformation comes from liberals not conservatives!  My husband and I will be dropping Directv if you go thru this in April. I will convince all our friends and family to do likewise. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our country. Shame on you!!!!

Please do not cancel OAN it is a top notch network in my opinion. The conservative voice is being silenced everywhere else please don't be just another one that follows the crowd. Look at the ratings if anything CNN with all those being indicted for crimes against women and children. Does Direct TV stand on the side of freedom of speech or the side of the haters that want to silence free speech. I would pay extra to keep it, so I will seriously consider leaving Direct TV if OAN is dropped. Respectfully - Mark C. Janesville, WI

Its interesting that folks are getting deep discounts and klowd. At lease our message is getting heard. Like most folks, the only offer I want is for Directv to renegotiate with OAN.

@darcy

Remember you are not getting KlowdTV from DirecTV itself. If account qualifies for a discount, then agent can "position" the discount as covering the cost of KlowdTV. DirecTV has no association with them but have nothing against showing the value of a discount this way. The hope is that temporary courtesy finds a way to retain a customer long term (or at least long enough to make up for it).

I think at this point people just need to acknowledge that OANN is not staying with DirecTV and will be gone once the current agreement ends. Use that knowledge to make whatever plans you must.

@Juniper I never said KlowdTV was from Direct tv. I simply said it was interesting. I also acknowledge at this time Direct TV has chosen to not renew OAN network's contract and that the channel will not be carried by Direct Tv at this time. My hope through pro-test it that they rethink this. and re-consider renewing it. I also know that some people agree to the temporary reduction in price. I will be cancelling my contract the day OAN is gone from the lineup.

Your statement of "deep discounts and Klowd" seemed to imply otherwise. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

If by "contract" you mean your service, then ok, do what you feel is right. If you have time left on a service agreement (contract), then be prepared to pay your early cancellation fee (ECF) on your final bill.

All,

Just found a great streaming package which has many of the main stations people watch on DIRECTV but with OANN and Newsmax.  It includes DVR with 3 simultaneous streams for only 15.95 a month under the switch and save deal.  Additional streams only $3 extra a month.  What a killer deal.

Unlike DIRECTV, this company lets the user choose between OANN, Newsmax, Fox, CNN and other news outlets.

Nice!!!  There are a lot of good streaming options out there, many with OANN.  I think DTV has inadvertently removed the complacency for many of us.  I would have done this long ago, except I was happy with DTV until the, er, "business decision."  Bull drops.

Hello friends please request DIRECTV to continue providing OAN "One America News" regardless of your political persuasion we want all information available on the airways.  This is the USA and we still do have the first amendment please help defend it.

We understand through many friends that Direct TV is going to drop OANN (Chanel 347), who gives ONLY true information.  We were also discussing that it appears Direct TV is afraid of the (Edited per community guidelines) movement,... another (and maybe only) reason why they are going to cancel OAN.  Two questions: (1) have you heard the same? and (2) Are you going to switch companies, and if so who are you moving to? thanks so much.

I pay over $100 a month for DirecTV Stream, but will be cancelling my subscription if you Drop OAN. Plain and simple I will not give money to any company who suppresses free speech.

I'm a current DirecTV Stream customer and pay well over $100 per month, but I will be switching to a service that doesn't suppress free speech if you go forward with dropping OAN. I don't pay to have a (Edited per community guidelines) company decide what I can watch. Make the right choice, this is a slippery slope that will bring you down

I have sent emails and tried to start chats to find out if DirectTV Stream will be participating in the censorship of OANN beginning in April. If I don't get clarification on this I will be cancelling my expensive subscription immediately. Please reply.

Exactly OANN_NOW, I would have cancelled this a long time ago. With other streaming services offering way more DVR space and more streams the only thing that made Directv and before that ATT TV different was that they had a OANN. Now if this change and before the political officer and you know who you are (think sunglasses) starts defending the decision and saying how it’s written in stone (those around when the USSR was around understand what I mean when I say political officer) please understand that I know of virtually no business decision that is actually written in stone - not even contracts are written in stone. That repetitive drum beat shows one’s failure to understand how a business operates, especially these days. I don’t mean to insult just that this person is wrong when spouting the company line. They will change it, maybe not in this case but they will in another case that is “written in stone” and leave you hanging out to dry and it won’t bother them a one bit. So many larger deals fall thru, bargains and promises are not kept that we know they have the ability to change their mind. After all this is not the USSR so most companies will follow the dollar and if enough of us quit they will hopefully have consequences for their actions that led to the reduction in subscribers and might reconsider. If they don’t then they will just be a smaller company and continue to use even more of their mobile income to subsidize their failing tv lineup. But I will cancel my $400 a month family’s cell service as soon as my phones are paid off maybe sooner depending on the balance left to pay off on recent phone purchases. That’s over $6k a year att will lose between tv and phone and I know that’s peanuts to them but multiplied by even a small number it will become a real number worthy of recognition by them and not just by some perfunctory CSR but a bean counter who has to report to the CEO and board but knowing att’s board though they will explain away ie. convince themselves their decisions aren’t responsible for the drop; it’s millennials changing purchasing patterns or some such reason and will state to the rest it has nothing to do with OAN being dropped. To think I almost dropped my cable company and went with att after they laid fiber through my neighborhood recently. Glad I didn’t. That would have been another $1000 a year to them. Well if there are enough of us and we don’t listen to the political officer someone will hear us. Maybe it won’t save OAN but it might the next guy that comes along with a different opinion.

Back when they had bookstores I never once wanted them to pull content from the store I didn’t like or agree with. If there was a section I didn’t like I just didn’t look at it or maybe I did and it changed or opened my mind and that’s what made America great - the free expression of ideas along with the freedom of choice to read or look at what I wanted and before the political officer tells me dtv is a private company I know that and so were the bookstores of which I speak. Those bookstores did start censoring and now they are gone. I’m sure att will get some type of government lifeline if they go broke because heaven for bid the free market is allowed to work. The gov always throws lifelines to those companies that do their bidding - look at how Covid money was disbursed.

Why have we grown backwards as a country? Other sad habits are coming back and so is what amounts to book burning. These people that are so afraid if you disagree with them that their argument will be exposed and won’t stand up and that they don’t want you to know that anyone else disagrees with them and agrees with you as well. Sad. Really is.

We don't need ATT.  We'd better suit up coz we conservatives need to find our own Media Services, Utilities, Hospitals & Doctors, Security, etc...  Let's see if Spectrum has the kahunas to take OAN.  I'm going to start making the case to them and appeal to their $$$ appetite by alerting them to the millions of EX-DTV customers looking for a new home.  But only if they scoop up OAN.  Can't someone buy OAN?  Like Trump, OR ALL OF US???  Can we get a few million of us together and make some plans?  Where do we start?  I can't physically go out and protest but I am dam good on the computer!  LET'S GO BRANDON!!!!!!!

I just discovered that OAN is on I Heart Radio.  I listen to Dan Bongino on there all the time  You can watch for free and not subscribe to anything.  I would imagine IHeart is also an app that can be viewed on Roku or Firestick too? (maybe others, smart TVs etc.) It's not listed on the OAN page as a source to view but according to a Facebook post, they've been hosting it since December 2020.
