DIRECTV dropping OANN?
How could you bow down to the WOK cancel culture demands to dropping OANN? They do not lie! The "big lie of the 2020 election" is absolutely true. There is mountains of evidence of the election steal. All the misinformation comes from liberals not conservatives! My husband and I will be dropping Directv if you go thru this in April. I will convince all our friends and family to do likewise. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our country. Shame on you!!!!

I don’t agree with Juniper in cancelling DirecTV and/or ATT now. Wait until after OAN is dropped in April as the more severe the drop in customers the more they might realize that they should reconsider carrying OAN.
I would call now just to let them know but as I said before most persons in any position that could actually do anything about this are well insulated from ever hearing directly from customers. But I’d go ahead and let the customer service rep, likely based in India or the Philippines, what we plan to do.

Both DTV & Uverse are dropping OAN when contract ends in 4/22. This is a considerable sector of ATT customers so 'go woke go broke' will soon be tested with ATT.

I assume CNN and MSNBC will be removed from the line up based on the same analysis.

@ironbill60 Dish is no better then DTV and they also dont carry OAN. If you have high speed internet from a cable provider Id look to them for TV service if you dont want to do streaming apps. I will be going the streaming app route. I also just purchased a powered HD antenna that will allow me to pull in Chicago local channels from 70 miles away.
OAN (and all news channels) can be streamed for free at USNewsON then cast to Smart TV,Roku or Chromecast device.

Thank you Dustyhill51. I watch OAN every time I turn the TV on. Love watching Real America with Dan Ball. But really I like it all cuz is the truth. I will definitely be canceling. Always paid my bill on time. They're going to miss me. Lol

If you get rid of OAN, then Im leaving after more than 10 yeats. You already are charging more than other providers and now you want sensor free speech and from a small network? The scientology network is still being carried and I'm sure a lot of people disagree with them.

I had uverse for several years so in December I bought into the direct stream. Try to get someone on the chat? ATT knew this increase was coming but did not mention when I signed on to Direct Stream. Purchased 5 boxes @ $125 ea so if I can get a refund on those I'm cancelling. I would be ok with cancelling OAN if MSNBC, CNN will be cancelled as well. This is political!

If OANN is being dropped from the service, I will be cancelling my subscription to DirecTV stream. I just want confirmation that the streaming service will also be impacted by this attempt at political censorship before cancelling.

Have you ever noticed that the l.i.b.e.r.a.l.s on here always have the smart asp responses when we voice our concerns? This forum is a microcosm for where we have degenerated as a nation. And just think.... they try to pass themselves of as the "tolerant" ones. There is nothing less tolerant than a bleeding heart when their feelings get hurt.

As Terms of Service for TV providers have a clause that channels/programming may change at any time, there is no refund expected for your boxes.
Unfortunately, sales agents (for any company) are not very forth coming when there is an upcoming price adjustment. They focus on what you will like the best, which is the nature of new customer sales pretty much anywhere. That adjustment has been annual for the services to keep up with increased costs. I know DirecTV (the original satellite service) has historically waived/credited the price adjustment difference through the end of your 1st year of service, but I don't know if DIRECTV STREAM has that same courtesy.

As OANN is not be negotiated for a new carriage agreement, upon the current one ending it will be gone from both DirecTV and DIRECTV STREAM per the public announcement.
This is not censorship as there is no requirement that any TV provider carry OANN or pay them for the privilege. Sure, they may have reasons for not continuing the carriage that you don't like, which is understandable. Not choosing to pay to keep something is not censorship, regardless of what their reasons for that choice may be.

No ONE on the right side of history ever condoned censorship and (Edited per community guidelines). We don't have to agree on what to watch or what is right/wrong, but removing options from 1/2 of the country in the hope that by doing so you can win them over to your side does nothing but highlight that while the censor side has nothing to offer the free speech side is attractive to more and more people. Some of you need to brush up on your history.... oh wait - you are the side wanting to remove it.
ATT and Directv will lose the masses if they decide to practice what is effectively bias and censorship. We have other choices. We will exercise them.

I called DTV customer service 1 (855) 802-3473. That person passed me to “customer loyalty” and that person (an actual American) registered my complaint and did confirm OANs contract is not being renewed. She agreed that many people voicing their concerns could not hurt but of course she has no control of the OAN issue.
To compensate she is discounting my DirecTV and internet costs with no contract for 1 year.
Take a few minutes and get to customer loyalty and register your complaint.

People call it censorship. But the other side of it is that DirecTV cannot be forced to pay for and carry the channel.
In the end, DirecTV has the right not to continue carrying the channel. Regardless of if you agree with that decision or not, or don't care one way or the other.
