FOX 66 in Erie pA
Channel is not currently available. I've already missed the World Series, now the World Cup and tomorrow Ohio State vs. Michigan. Monday I look to switch back to cable. This has gone on too long.

Pleased to say that this channel is still UNAVAILABLE! It's been over FOUR months without FOX and without any reimbursement from DirecTV. We've missed out on the World Series, World Cup, Super Bowl, numerous college Football & Basketball games, NASCAR and countless shows. And what is DirecTV doing to bring this channel back??? Who knows as they haven't provided an update since the day that the blackout started. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Ok, glad you're pleased.
There is nothing to reimburse. DirecTV package include access to locals in general. Just like any other channel, there is no guarantee you will always (or ever) have any specific channel.
This is why local channels (network owned or local affiliate owner) prefer their carraige agreement end during major sports events. They want to upset us customers enough to try and force DirecTV to cave to higher rates that up our bills.
Negotiating of course. They want a deal that is good for them as a company and us customers. If they just cave to the higher cost the channel owner wants then prepare for your bill to go up that much more. So do you want the channel back fast and be pleased for that much of a higher bill or can you be patient so DirecTV can minimize any cost increase? (idealy avoid or lower but that realistically is not an option).
And you would say the same thing when your bill goes up wouldn't you? If you honestly cannot live with the channel or sports fix, then plug in a regular antenna and get the free broadcast as a backup. What I find unacceptable is DirecTV and us customers paying more and more over time for channels that are free over the regular airways.
Perhaps educate yourself on the situation with your local affiliate: https://www.directv.com/tvpromise/

I think free movie channels should be handed out if they wana take away local channels. It’s funny cuz you turn it to cbs or fox and I feel like they are almost putting it solely on nexstar but you know (Edited per community guidelines) well these (Edited per community guidelines)ers are trying to save every penny they can while they charge every customer for every dollar possible. I recommend you guys drop these clowns and if you’re missing football or that go nflbyte and stream whatever sports you want for free. It’s tricky to get around but once you figure it out it’s nothing. You’ll click on whatever game and when you click the play button a pop up will come and you gota exit outa that and hit the play button again. You gota do that 3 times or so and then you’re good to go. And I just read the one review that someone responded to that isn’t a “directv employee” and when they commented and said you’d do the same too if your bill goes up????? When doesn’t the (Edited per community guidelines)in thing go up (Edited per community guidelines). Always nickel and diming people and adding more taxes and whatever else they like to do so they can make millions off of us and it doesn’t matter to them cuz A) they’re still getting their money whether they keep the channel or not and B) a channels that are ultimately FREE and C) chances are these rich crooked CEOs and so on most likely don’t even have pr (Edited per community guidelines)in use Directv in the first (Edited per community guidelines) place cuz they know they are just giving the shaft to every customer that doesn’t want it. Corporate greed should be punishable by all and any means. Sooner or later they’ll be punished tho in (Edited per community guidelines) when they’re getting shafted with a pineapple up they (Edited per community guidelines)in (Edited per community guidelines).

How stupid is this tho? You can go straight to abc and fox websites, put in you Directv userID and (Edited per community guidelines) and watch it for free? (Edited per community guidelines) is going on dude and how much sense does this make? Cuz to me, it makes no sense at all. Oh as long as I’m a Directv customer I can go on the company’s website that we are bad mouthing and claiming are trying to rob us, similar to what Directv themselves do to their customers, and watch them channels online but I just can’t watch it from
my expensive (Edited per community guidelines)ty (Edited per community guidelines) box that I pay hundreds of dollars a month for just the basic (Edited per community guidelines) (Edited per community guidelines)ty expensive package from Directv. GTFOH!!!!!

What do the movie channels have to do with your locals? HBO, etc. has no control over that.
Nexstar pulled the feed so DirecTV is not allowed to broadcast the channel. Remember DirecTV doesn't own your locals. Nexstar is keeping the feed away trying to hardball higher rights, which naturally bleed over to our bills with future price adjustments.
Would you prefer the channel back immediately by accepting your bill jacked up? Local channels are only 'free' over the regular airways but they charge TV providers to rebroadcast them. Do you think they have infinite funds to cover that? Grasp the whole situation before claim it is only the TV provider that results in nickel and diming us. The channels are NOT ultimately free, but feel free to tell Nexstar to just give it to DirecTV for free without charging a cent.

At this point, I would pay extra to get my local FOX and ABC channels back. It's been over a freaking YEAR for Fox for God's sake. And over the year +, I have been given a measly $20 off of my bill while still being charged FULL PRICE for the local channels addon minus TWO of the five total channels. Makes a lot of sense. Now that they've lost the NFL Sunday Ticket, they'll be jacking up prices to try and make up for their biggest money maker. This entire situation has been going on way too long and needs resolved asap.

Instead of giving me ONE $10 credit for what, a jacked up bill already, they could show some courtesy and be sincerely apologetic and say ya know what, we feel your pain and here’s a little bit more than a $10 bill credit for your (Edited per community guidelines) juniper. Get off of Directv’s (Edited per community guidelines). Cuz they’re shafting you too or you just must like it

Leave the lies at home. I don't get free programming. I pay my bill like everyone else.
Even I have posted negative comments, such as in response to their hardware direction. I just prefer to have a realistic perspective of the whole situation and not be a slave to my local channels.

I am not saying our bills haven't been raised already. Channel owners like Nexstar raising their rates is what drives this. If they raise higher than what the TV provider can budget for, of course they are going to raise customer bills to help cover operation costs. That is how it works. A business has expenses. The money we pay doesn't go purely into their pocket as you imply.
The $10 is just a courtesy. They don't have to do any credit. As pointed out many times before, as long as you get a single local channel, you get exactly what you pay for. Only if no locals at all were provided would your bill require to be adjusted (or go to a no-locals version of the package if those still exist in their system).
I would love if locals became optional again. That way I could just remove them and not pay for them at all. I'll use a regular antenna and get the free broadcast. Like many others, I did not go to pay TV for my locals but what my locals could not provide me. If locals were good enough, then I wouldn't have pay TV at all.
