The contract is not being renewed.  It was announced in mid-January.  Some of us are leaving DirecTV over it and some have already left.  You may want to look into streaming services, KlowdTV, or the OAN streaming service itself.  It appears after April 4 that OAN and AWE won't be available on DTV anymore.

Most of the comments are being merged into the original thread where we were discussing this matter and it appears any new threads are being merged here too. https://forums.directv.com/conversations/community-lounge/directv-dropping-oann/61e2fc1ff693d71b8f6f5cac

Certainly not. The greatest disservice they do to themselves is taking what they've been told as gospel and not doing their homework.

AT&T owns CNN and has ties to Dominion so it's no surprise that when OAN's contract is up, they're gone.

DirecTV, along with DIRECTV STREAM have decided to not renew the carriage agreement with OANN. I believe that the existing agreement ends April 4, 2022. Whether the channel shuts off that day, or simply not on the following day, I am not sure.

We called DirecTV. Juniper is right. April 4th is when the contract is up. I assume, although we didn't ask specifically, that the service will end that day also.

Think it is time to leave DirecTV and this forum. Seems the silencing of our voice is contagious with this company. Too bad it has come to this. They apparently do not believe in free speech, especially when it come to criticism of them. The closing of discussion is a prevailing practice on this forum.

Call DirecTV's Loyalty Department.

800-531-5000

Let them know exactly why you're leaving, if you are leaving.

We did a couple of days ago. We've been customers since they purchased Primestar which is quite a while ago. Leaving DirecTV isn't what we wanted to do but speaking with our pocketbooks is all we could do. Our final day is April 6. I think we're just going to save our money but spend the $4.99 a month for OAN.

I have a feeling that Newsmax will be dropped next when their contract is up.

Been with DiercTV since the 1990s'. I will cancel, but I have someone else in my household that watches. I do not watch anymore, I stream on Roku and have OAN Epoch TV, Americas Voice, Newsmax and Lindell TV, among many others.

My housemate likes Fox, so I will most likely switch to Dish Network for his sake.

If all you cult members want to see OAN so bad then download and pay for their rip off app. U all are gullible. Con artists have a field day with people like you.

I think it was the New York Times that said the laptop is authentic.

Epoch tv is a keeper. I never heard of Americas Voice. I'll look into that.

I returned all the DirecTV equipment today. I get so much more from OTA, PlutoTv, Firestick and many more streaming services. I did get the Tivo Edge OTA (over the air) and have 2 minis and planning on getting one more. The Minis are added free to the service. This replaces the DVR and you have many choices for amount of space to save shows. I live in South Georgia and a very rural location and I get over 50 OTA stations. I get ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CW, METV, ION, H&I Grit, Bounce, and more. All with a Digital Antenna. Add the streaming service I get more than DTV.

I had 2 accounts and the other account closes on the 31 March. The box for the return is already ready to ship.

Now there is no reason to think DirecTV is going to reverse their decision so I strongly suggest either looking for options or just give in to the WOKE culture. Oh and by the way DTV is adding 2 different channels both are by Urban One which caters only African American viewers. From DTV : CLEO TV and TV One added to the DIRECTV Entertainment package on March 24. Add this to Gay TV and a few others that cater to extreme "progressive" nature as DTV removes (Edited per community guidelines) programming.

I strongly suggest looking at your options. Streaming TV services (Pluto TV, Firestick, VUTV, and many more free services. If you add a Tivo OTA system you can have so much more for a fraction of the cost. It will take a bit to adapt and learn the differences but if you give it the time you can have more and with a big savings. Just know that all the "protesting" DTV's decision to drop OANN and AWE will not change their decision. The only thing DTV will see if subscribers drop the service which will effect their income. They are hoping to pick up more of the Progressive users to replace the loss.

Lastly when I took the prepaid box with the DTV equipment to the post office the clerk did say that there has been a lot of "cutting the cord" lately. I hope it is a wave that will be felt in the DTV shareholders dividends.

Also the moderators closed the other thread that had 89 pages with 20.8K views and 1.4K comments.

There does seem to have made some impression.

I gave myself the time to transition over to the streaming and the Tivo system.  I got the Pluto TV and I did subscribe to OANN $4.99 a month.  The Amazon firestick also has alot .Newsmax is on Pluto TV and Firestick as well as Sky News. I dont only watch OANN but Newsmax and Sky News.

I have to say that OANN does show allot of live hearings so people can see and hear for themselves what is going on and can decide on truth without talking heads telling them.

Maybe that is the fear from some, that the people may see for themselves what is truly going on. OMG that frightens some politicians. ( and the corporate )
