Why is DirecTV still broadcasting Russian Television (RT on Channel 321)?
Now that Russia has invaded Ukraine (similar to the Anschluss of 1938), why is DirecTV still broadcasting Russian Television on their service? Does DirecTV and ATT support Russia and a dictatorship over the freedoms of a fledgling democracy such as Ukraine? I implore DirecTV and ATT to immediately take Russian Television (RT on Channel 321) off DirecTV broadcast immediately!

I would like an answer from someone at DIRECT TV to the following question:
Why did DIRECT TV censor the word, (Edited per community guidelines) from my comment, and from others who also used that word to describe what RT TV is all about?
Thank you in advance.
PS. Please do not censor the word I am asking about from this comment.

The bots remove the word(s).

If it is censored upon you making the post, then it is done by the automatic filter/bot they have programmed into the forum. Changing the context into questioning it does not change the fact that DirecTV has it filtered.

Juniper and Shannon, you are both incorrect. How you use it in a sentence does matter. Look at Semmy's post yesterday in this thread. In their post they have one sentence that says: He's not Russian (Edited per community guidelines) as far as I know. The second says: So where's the Russian (Edited per community guidelines)?

If you declare it as (Edited per community guidelines), as I did in one of my posts yesterday, the bot or person censors it, as they did in one of my posts.

Programming for Russia Today, RT, has stopped. That is a good move on the part of DirecTV given the current global situation.

Now I'm upset. I can't use that word that means: information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. But Semmy can use it to defend that channel(see their first post from yesterday.

I'm very disappointed that you have dropped RT's channel. You may not agree but they do give vital information to weigh against everything being told by corporate media.
Remember, we were told over and over and over and they insisted that Saddam had WMD's in order to justify invasion. An invasion based on a lie. Hundreds of thousands (yes, look it up( of innocent people DIED over the course of the invasion.
The country was destroyed as was Afghanistan, Libya and we currently occupy parts of Syria illegally while we help ourselves to their oil.
We are subjected to a constant stream of (Edited per community guidelines) and of course they don't want RT offering evidence of the lies of our state dept.
Have you watched RT? Please, do so and see what they are presenting. You might be surprised. If you have an open mind you will be surprised.

To be clear, it doesn't matter for the forums. Their filter is programmed to remove inappropriate content (usually key words). It has no concept of context. To be as nitpicky as you want would likely require a sentient level of AI to deduce conversation structure and intention.
Sorry, but their forum, their rules and guidelines.

That doesn't explain why Semmy can use the word 2 posts after mine. Did you even look at Semmy's post. Semmy uses it twice in one post. It's not a bad word. It's being used by every news network on TV. Pro p a GA n da

If it is not allowed, and nobody had a typo that snuck through, then I would think the filter had a hiccup. It is not perfect.
In the end it doesn't matter if you don't think it is a bad word. If the forum moderators and filter programmers have chosen it to be excluded, then that is up to them.

When did Direct TV become the tyranical hack gate keeping censors? I thought tyrants and dictators only did that. I want RT news channel back that I paid for as a loyal paying customer. Will I get a refund for you taking down the channel?

I've been in this field for 20 years. When a word is spelled properly, with proper sentence structure, the filter didn't miss it...lol. Come on. When the same word is spelled properly, with proper sentence, is used in the same thread, but is censored, it's not the filter. You then have at the differences in the posts. Semmy's was not accusatory. Mine and Arkland were, of the channel and the Russian government.

Even if it wasn't automated, it is still up to those that run the forum, not us customers.

I get that, always is. I am curious about the criteria that is used to determine when something is censored. Like if I said Trump is a ...dist or Biden...lol. I'm libertarian
