2 year contract but only give me a one year promo price?
Alright so I just got a curve ball thrown at me by AT&T. So I agree to a 2 year commitment for internet and Directv but the promo only lasts a year. Really? It was presented to me verbally over the phone of what a great deal I was getting for the two years. Bait and Switch.... You got me. I am very disappointed in this tactic by a company like AT&T at this day and age. Your Rep did remind me of the T&C emailed to me that would have stated this. No, I did not read it. Something as important as that should have been CLEARLY presented to me while on the phone when I signed up for the service.
It will be hard to justify staying on with your services with all the competition out there. Just letting you know. If you want to keep customers long term, I would highly suggest changing your methods.

New customer promos have always been for one year and DTV has always required a 2 year contact.

It's outlined in the sales confirmation order, also The bill counts down the promotional discount the first year. So it shouldn't have been a shock to you.

Do you both work for at&t? You just don’t understand.... the conversation and verbal presentation did not match up with the actual agreement. I can sell someone on a false set of expectations and then send the official agreement and know that the majority of the people will not review the information and then after the promo has ended you have them. This is what i am referring to. These are the marketing tactics of companies that just want to take advantage of people to gain profitability. They will not survive long term. Shame on you at&t!

Any employees of either company have that fact stated in a box similar to the ACE box.
You are not under contract until you sign the work order after the install, the email was sent before the install so you could have canceled at anytime if you had read it.

We agree it is wrong for the sales person to misquote the offer (on purpose or by accident). However for both DirecTV's and your protection, you are sent an order confirmation that spells out exactly what you are getting (level of equipment, amount and length of promotions, service agreement, expected 1st months bill before taxes, etc.). This is for you to review BEFORE your are installed and activated. This is your opportunity to call in with any questions, modify the order if needed, or even close the order if it will not work for you. Signing off with the tech is accepting that the install and order (as show in DirecTV's system, the order confirmation) are correct and to your satisfaction.
No matter the company, it is important to look over any documentation they send you. If you avoid reading it, then you are blindly accepting all it entails with no recourse to dispute it.
