Adding a Channel

Is it possible to add  HBO-Max to the existing Choice Extra Classic?  And what would be the the cost?

HBO is a premium pack that you add on, regardless of if you have a grandfathered package or not. That would provide you the HBO channels 501 - 509 and 511 as well as access to HBO On Demand 1501. As for the HBO Max portion, of that I am unsure.

However, I would review the channels you watch. Choice Xtra Classic was popular to get specialty networks (Cloo, Chiller, SoapNet) that newer customers needed Ultimate to get. Since those channels were completely shut down by their respective owners, most people are paying more for a grandfathered package without getting anything for it. Check your channels against Xtra (the current equivalent tier) or Choice (the tier below).

I'm glad they renamed the packages from Choice, Choice Xtra, and Choice Ultimate to just Choice, Xtra, and Ultimate as that old naming caused confusion for us customers by having 3 with "Choice" in the name.

If you log into your account online, you should be able to find the cost of the HBO add-on. Only the package choices should be unavailable per your grandfathered one requiring you to call in.

Subscribing to the HBO satellite channels does also give you access to HBOMax streaming. Just use your Directv credentials to login.
