Agreed to 2 year contract with ATT for 191.00 . ATT charging 208.00 and now 306.09

ATT rips people off and I am tired of dealing with them . I will be switching back to Spectrum because these silly people argue every time they raise the bill about my pricing agreement only being for a year . However the contract is for 2 years . They make that very clear when we try to fix the billing issue . They sent  a representative to our door about a year and a half ago trying to get us to switch from Soectrum to them . When we finally do , it was a two year contract in order to get the price they offered . They pull crap every six months about some kind of expired promotion and try to tell us we have to reduce our channels in order to get the price we were offered for two years . I will file a complaint with the FCC. I’m done with ATT ripping me off . ATT owes me over 300 for ripping me off for the last few months on my pricing and they will pay me back . I will file complaints until they honor their pricing that was offered to me to switch . Why would I switch , just to pay more for less after a few meezly months . And we are talking over 300 dollars for less of a package than I had with Spectrum and crappy slow internet . We will see what they do when the complaints filed . They rip people off . Bad Business practices . Shame on you ATT.

First off DTV/AT&T doesn't use door to door salespersons so you where dealing with a third party company that sent the order to DTV and they will say anything to get their commission.

DTV has always had a one year discount intro offer with a 2 year contract that was stated on the email DTV sent before the install and said discount is countered down on the bill.

DTV is not an ISP so they can't provide internet crappy or not.

Well door-to-door was your problem. They don't work for DirecTV, or even AT&T. Those are 3rd party sales people who send orders for new service to other companies.

DirecTV is a 12 month discounted price and a 24 month agreement. The order confirmation from DirecTV itself would have clarified this, including your monthly bill itemizes your discounts and counts them down.

Time to stop taking the sales pitch as universal truth and actually read the paperwork from the company and your bill. DirecTV honored exactly what was in their Terms of Service and on the order. There is nothing to pay back as you were billed correctly.

Sorry but door-to-door hasn't changed in the last 500 years. Careful or someone will "sell" you a bridge next.

I have it in writing , know it all . I also talked to ATT and had it fixed on several different occasions . Whoever you are , I’m sure you work for ATT or direct TV . And I’ll have it fixed again .  Maybe you should have the facts straight and I don’t think they had door to door sales for TV for 500 years . And off I go back to Spectrum . So rip somebody else off . Already filed the complaint . Don’t worry . I have the paperwork . And I’m not dumb enough to sign a contract without reading it and talking to the company first . What , are you self isolating .

@Ginagates , the truth hurts I guess. Compare the sales confirmation email to what you have "in writing " DirecTV goes by the order confirmation.

That contract is with the third party company, DTV will only honor what they sent in the email.

And again you make a mistake. You being "sure" is still wrong. I do not work for AT&T or DirecTV. If the DirecTV order confirmation and your service don't match, that is an issue. But if you are talking about "in-writing" from the door-to-door person, then they were just putting in whatever they want and you would need to complain with the 3rd party retailer they work for.

I didn't say TV sold door to door for 500 years, read it again. I was saying that door-to-door sales hasn't changed in a very long time. Too many will either be not well informed of the product/service they sell for or will just say anything to make the sale. TV providers didn't invent door-to-door sales.

Bottom line, DirecTV will only honor what is on their order and official confirmation. They do not honor any additional false promises by 3rd party sellers. Because of situations like this with many companies, I refuse to deal with door-to-door people.

They were wearing ATT shirts 4 people on our street switched . I don’t think that anthird party would wear ATT shirts with the ATT emblem on them . I still have the reps.

reps number , so I have called them  .  137 dollar increase in one bill and 113 on the others is a little excessive . In the end  , the contracts almost over , so I’d say there is something wrong 4 months before the contracts over charging me an extra 100 plus dollars . Not a way to keep a customer . Goodbye ATT. Never again .

So 3rd parties absolutely wear clothing with the logo/brand of companies they send orders to. Some will even have multiple on there, even if immediate competitor (i.e. DirecTV vs Dish). It is not proof of who their employer is, but that you can speak to them about setting up service for one of those companies. I really wish companies would stop using 3rd parties, or have tighter rules and/or accountability for them.

Now an increase of $137 and then further increase of $113 is not normal. That amount is about full cost of service (depending what you have), but your bill shouldn't go up by that amount. So I would read through the bill for any one-time charges, returned payment, or a carry over balance if prior bill was not paid in full (such as if the 12 months ended a month or two ago and you just paid what you were used to instead of reading the bill).

So bill goes up on month 13, not 4 months before your 24 month agreement ends. I would take some time and review your prior bills for clarity.

No it’s auto drafted off my credit card account . I earn rewards when I autopay bills on the credit cards . I just pay them off every month . That is the price increase they are charging us .  After talking to ATT , they claim they have no more discounts available . Just making up for the so called savings I got when I switched . Lesson well learned . Won’t be with them much longer anyway . I can get service with any company . They will even pay the contract off for you . But mines also almost over anyway . Did Not even realize they had started charging the extra money for 3 months . I don’t get  a bill . Now I’m paying close attention to what is charged to my cards . What a rip off . They don’t have to worry about me staying with them . They need to move on to the next fool.

So DTV is a ripoff because you didn't read the email they sent or the bills that where counting down the discount and you didn't notice the increase for 3 months?

Door to door salesman is at fault for giving false info at start.

DirecTV would only be at fault if the order confirmation they sent (not the one from the 3rd party salesman at the door), does not match what the customer received.

Not reading the order confirmation from DirecTV, or the monthly bills that count down the discounts and even a few bills after the discounts ended, would be on the OP.

But adding over $100 on a bill and then again the next month, with OP mention 4 months before contract ends, sounds most likely like they didn't notice the change for a few months only paying what they used to which built up a past due. And if it is a combined bill that is probably discounts ending from both AT&T and DirecTV.

Personally I don't do combined bills, as I prefer bill directly from the company as formatted exactly for them. Though AT&T now owns DirecTV, it is not fully integrated yet between the two sides.

Read everything that was sent to me and I have the contract . Don’t know what you talking about . You probably work for ATT . It’s obvious
