BILLING QUESTION
UNFAIR BILLING TO LOYAL CUSTOMERS!
Having been a loyal customer for over 15 years with Direct TV then AT&T taking it over. Our Account number: (Edited as per community guidelines)
I am disgusted that you are charging us $134.33 per month JUST to watch tv!
It is highway robbery!
I called today, spoke to your rep May. She told me there were no promotions at this time to lower my bill and a loyalty promotion we were given a year ago of $45.00 expired in July. It was bad enough to be paying $89. for JUST TV but now over $130.00.
I will be seeking other providers who can provide me with more channels, better customer service for ALOT less money.

We are not charging you anything. This is a public forum of other customers. Never post sensitive info like your account number here.
Networks charge TV providers a lot of money to be carried. This has increased over the years, resulting in the pricing you see today. This was happening for years before AT&T acquired DirecTV. If you don't like cost, then you reduce service until within budget. They have several packages to choose from: Family, Select, Entertainment, Choice, Xtra, Ultimate, Premier.
Because there has been concern of too many account having excessive discounts (such as you describe), their CEO announced months ago they must pull discount offers back for now. They are a business and must operate at a profit, not suffering accounts at a loss. Discounts are only intended to be a temporary perk, not a permanent reduction in bill.
If you are relying on discounts to have service at a comfortable cost for you, then you are living beyond your means. It is your responsibility to manage costs within your budget, not expecting the businesses to do it for you. You are not entitled to keep getting a $45 discount. Time to face reality.
Don't expect much difference from other TV providers. That advertised rate is the starting intro price (usually not the entire cost even). After that you pay full cost, and are still subject to costs going up as the networks continue charge the providers higher costs.
