Calls - Possible Spam

I keep getting calls from 877-652-0650 and they leave a message saying they are calling AT&T Direct TV to let me know that my account is qualified for a 50% off.   Anyone else get these calls?

Many people get those calls. It’s not ATT or Directv, it’s a scam.

....and the number is spoofed.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

All you have to do is buy an untraceable gift card and give them the number over the phone to pay for your next 3 months in advance.  Who wouldn't love that?

I am being offered $74.99 Guaranteed for 2 Years if I pay $300 with an Apple Card by 8pm tonight. I get NFL package for two years plus Showtime HBO and Starz for 20 months. I ‘m supposed to call *** extension #1. The frustration is that when I call the number it has the ATT tone and they are very helpful. When I call the real ATT and ask about whether this is real they are unhelpful and when I ask for a supervisor they need to call me back.

Red flags:

  • Too good to be true price
  • Prepay
  • "By 8pm tonight"
  • pay by "Apple [or any other Gift] card"
  • "extension #"

Don't fall for it.

You really shouldn't be posting their number for them.

Maybe if ATT/Direct TV or any federal agency knows the number they just might want to shut it down. The point was they were more helpful than the real cable people. I miss my old Directv company……

AGAIN....the numbers are spoofed.

@skeeterintexas In this case, not a spoofed number because that is the number they want you to call to complete the scam. It is obviously a number in service but likely not for long. They probably change their numbers regularly.
