CANCEL DIRECT TV

At&t has made my life MISERABLE for two months. You continue to charge me for Direct TV and a football package even though I canceled this service MONTHS ago and moved from the old residence. Repeated calls to your ineffective customer service operation have produced NO CHANGE and I continue to be billed monthly for services I have canceled and do not receive. Are you a scam outfit that just bills people without regard to their contracts in the hope that you can sleaze away our money? Again, my account number os **** and I want this problem solved immediately or I will report you to the Attorney General and post here every day calling you out for this scam. My directTV account number is [edited for privacy-please do not post personal or unique information such as but not limited to full names, employee ID numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, etc.] and I want this issue resolved immediately. I do not want to receive any more bills for this service and I DO NOT want to waste my time and energy dealing again and again with with telephone service people who DO NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEM!!!

This is a customer to customer forum not DTV support and you shouldn't be posting that info. Only calling/chatting DTV can fix this unless AT&Tcares PMs you.

If you want to cancel your DirecTV service, then call them. That is the only way as like other companies they want a live agent to discuss the situation with you to try and retain your business. Failing that, they have disclosure to go over regarding the cancellation.

 

Per a recent issue in their new billing system, verify NFL Sunday Ticket is opted out BEFORE the cancellation is setup. Otherwise the full amount of the remainder is charged and they wouldn't be able to remove it without reinstating the account first. As the reports on this from a few other customers were from a few days ago, it is unknown if the issues is still there or not so best to be safe.

 

Do NOT post personal info like your account number here or you are opening yourself up to true thieves. This is a public forum so you are telling your info to the world, not DirecTV customer service.

I'm going through the same thing...They won't let me cancel for 5 weeks after reneging on a service agreement for the next 12 months.  I have the email they sent me regarding discounted rates going foreword, and now thay are saying they never agreeed to it.  These emails are from the "Customer Retention" dept..  I have the NFL Sunday Ticket, which, I'm trying to get out of because I won't have a platform in which to watch it.  And, they're saying I have a Genie, when I don't have one.  How can they charge you for something you can't even use?
