I’m pretty sure the only way to cancel is to call. You can try chat but not sure chat agents can or will do that but chat would provide the written record.

To remove optional services, reduce package, or anything else the reduces revenue you have to call DirecTV.

Normally the renewal notice is on the June bill with the 1st of 6 installments on the July bill. So the account may already have the 1st charge, but upon opting out that charge should be reversed. Since they only send one bill a month, you should see that on your following bill but may see an update to the running balance within 48hours if you log into your account.

Just make sure to call before the season starts in September (otherwise would be secured for that season), and check the next bill or 2 to verify any installments were credited back.
