Cancelled Directv. Credit on my account has not been refunded
I requested a refund on a credit amount on my ATT Directv account after I closed my account in Early September 2020 and was told I will receive a refund in 30 days. That never happened and so I chatted online with ATT and have they said something was done wrong internally and I would receive the payment in 5-7 days. That never happened. I then chatted again with ATT in late November and was told again they had improperly processed the return and again promised I would be receiving the refund in 5 business days. That never happened. So now we are in early January 2021 and I chatted again with ATT and explained I still have not received the refund and they again said they are very sorry and indicated I would definitely receive the refund in 5-7 days. That's where we are today. 31/2 months since I close the account with hours of time following up with ATT and unlikely I will ever get my refund. ATT lost me as a client forever. Here are snippets of my chats with ATT.

Are you looking for a pro-rated credit for your final bill?

My final bill shows a credit for $65 and it’s been over 3 months and never received this amount that’s due to me. Not a pro rated amount but the full amount that belongs to me.

This forum is not customer support. No one here can issue the refund. If calls and chat aren’t getting results, escalate to corporate by filing a BBB complaint. Just curious, how did you end up with a credit?

@SteveQuincy
The different chat agents certainly do not sync up on the information. And "refund successfully waived off" is very odd wording.
Traditionally if an account has a credit balance, then after 30 days from disconnect it is automatically refunded by the system. If a manual refund is requested, it is approved/denied within 10 business days (though may take longer these days per Covid short staffing). Then if it is approved the refund issues within 3-5 business days, which is by a refund card mailed.
When others were asking about if prorated or not, they didn't mean if the refund was prorated. As of a couple years ago, DirecTV no longer prorates the final bill. So no matter how many days within the service month you cancel, you pay for the entire service month. So they were asking if you were expecting credit for a partial month (the way it used to be), or if the credit was because of something else.
Chat agents are only supplementary to customer support and have very questionable information recently (as seen in your chat snippets). So at this point I would call DirecTV and speak to an agent (say "cancel" at the voice prompt to get to the cancellation/retention department for a more experienced agent). Be prepared for higher than normal hold time, but using the keyword you shouldn't have to worry about multiple transfers restarting hold.

I also have had many calls on the phone with Directv without any results. I wasted so much time for $65. There is a point where you say my time that I’ll never get back is not worth the effort anymore. So sad.

If you have already had several calls, in addition to chat, I would file a BBB complaint as that hits the corporate level.
But it depends what the credit is for if that would be worth it or not, as I suspect you were promised a credit and refund that wouldn't happen in the first place.

It's problematic to offer advice if we are unclear on what the "refund" was for. I don't believe the OP has been forthcoming with that bit of information.

The credit was for an overpayment on the account after the account was cancelled

By overpayment do you mean you paid more than the bill showed or that you expected it was overpaid because of paying for the full service month when you only used part of it?

I listed two possible options. If neither of them is it, all I can think of is that you submitted a payment twice or you were disputing a charge on a bill you already paid and got the credit resulting in overpayment in the end.
Look I'm just listing out possibilities to see if any other guidance might be given to straighten this out. How about actually explaining the overpayment details and being clear? Or are you purposely being obtuse with the details for some reason?
