Get the voice system, say "cancel" to be routed to the cancellation/retention dept.
Agent required to find out why and make offer to retain your business.
May have multiple offers depending on situation.
If offers work, then great.
If not, politely decline (stay firm) and continue with cancellation.
Billing is not prorated, so you pay for the entire service month. This is regardless how many days into the cycle you are, even if it just started.
If you have a service agreement, it is valued at $20 for each month remaining. That would be added to the final bill.
Returnable boxes are taken to a "participating" FedEx or The UPS Store location for your free return. Those are not 3rd party shipping centers/annexes but corporate locations.

call DIRECTV and ask to cancel with retention department. Be ready to stay on the phone for awhile, its not a 10 minute process.
