can I cancel the protection plan I purchased yesterday

DirecTV's Equipment Protection Plan ($8.99) is optional. Call DirecTV to remove. The 1st 30 days are a no charge/no claim period.

Without the plan service calls are $99, delivery of replacement boxes $19.95, and remotes $15. The one-time costs should be needed so little that it is cheaper than having a monthly plan that you pay for whether you use it or not.
