You need to call DirecTV to reduce your services .... 1 800 531 5000
Say "cancel" at the voice prompt. Be prepared for sales pressure to change your mind.

Be aware the "bare minimum" package is not advertised. The Family package is $29.99, before receiver services, taxes etc.
If you are not using the service for a while, you could see about suspending the service for up to 6 months (within a 12 month period). https://support.directv.com/account-management/2430 The one thing not updated on the support page is the $7 monthly vacation hold while suspended (new fee since the merger). But that is still cheaper than the Family package if you are not going to be using it for a couple months or so.
