contract status

How do you find out if you are still in a contract?  I'm ready to cancel this awful service.

I would say the only way to see if you are still under contract would be to talk with Customer service or if you remember the date of installation it would be 2 years from that date.

To add on if you moved that gives a one year contract extension and upgrading equipment or adding receivers adds a two year contract.

Call DirecTV. When you get the voice prompt say "cancel" which should route you to the cancellation/retention department. As the most common reason to look into the service agreement is considering cancelling, that is why they are the ones with access.

What about your service are you finding "awful"? Perhaps other users could help find a solution.
