CUSTOMER SERVICE EMAIL ADDRESS

I NEED A CUSTOMER SERVICE EMAIL ADDRESS

The DTV rep on the phone tell you that my service change has to be done by an installer.  The installer comes and says that my service change has to be done by rep on the phone.  Then I get charge $99 for nothing.

DTV doesn't do e-mails because there would be a record of all the lies that they tell you.

Blah, blah, blah. Juniper. You are not a customer or an employee of Directv. I had a tech out here literally 4 days ago and so called aligned the dish then it snowed like 2 inches and suddenly it's not a "aligned" anymore and no signal? The dish is not damaged in any way. There is no way to realign the dish unless a tech is called because of where it's mounted and it's all bolted down which is ridiculous. At least with Dish Network you can realign the dish and get the signal back. There is no solution by calling "tech support" either. If the dish alignment is so fragile it should have a cover over it so no elements can touch it. Or, get better equipment.

Ok stop right there. Leave the "blah blah" at the door and quit with the false statements and discuss like a mature adult.

I am a customer of DirecTV and have been for many years. I have explained how everything should work. If something about your service falls outside of what it is supposed to do than that is unique and suggests a further issue.

Again, DirecTV should work under normal weather conditions. However if the dish is optimally aligned but by that position but deals with too much snow on the dish, then you could try carefully brushing it off with a broom (make sure not to affect alignment), or some even use a simple "super soaker" like item to remove what has accumulated.

If that is too much for you, and it is confirmed that dish is aligned as best it can be and there is no better location for it to be mounted, then cancel service and go with a different provider.

So time to work with the reality of the situation and do something constructive.

It's not hard to align a DirecTV dish, provided you can safely reach out. Several good YouTube show how.

I would like to say that because I could not get any help from my phone call I did go online and hooked up with a “chat person” at Direct TV.com, named Sivakala who was extremely helpful.  She knew what to do to fix the problem and it was fixed in several minutes.  My system was up and running again.  She was polite, helpful and of good cheer.  Many thanks to her for helping me and please let her know that I said so.  She is the type of customer service person you rarely deal with anymore.  Congrats on having a great person in your employ.

I’m a resident of Embassy Manor, who has direct tv as their television provider.  I’m forced to say that, at least in the Edison, NJ area the service is at best unreliable- the least degree of bad weather screws up the service.  And at least at this facility there are very few English language stations and way too many foreign language stations.  The language of the United States is English and the more we accommodate the immigrants the less they’ll want to learn English.  Additionally, as an American born consumer of your services, I expect to have access to a majority of English language stations.  Specifically, at a minimum, the three major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC).  Please, restore the English language stations, and if I could I’d make you completely get rid of the non-English stations.
P.S. My sister-in-law is from Columbia (South America) and now speaks excellent English because she wanted to fit in, not change us.

I’m an English speaking U.S. citizen and I’m sick and tired of the majority of the English language stations being dropped in favor of all the various foreign language stations.  Please restore the English language stations and require those that refuse to learn English to pay extra to get stations in whatever language they want.

Most likely you have an MDU setup so you need to contact the MDU provider.  DTV has no control over what a channel sends them.  It is possible that the MDU is controlling what channels are on their system.

Shannon,

 I’m a resident of a nursing home, in Edison, NJ.  All I know is that when there’s a problem we get the generic Direct TV screen.  The problem did not appear until we were sold to Aristacare.

Most nursing home are MDU (Multi Dwelling Units) so there is nothing DTV can do, you have to contact the MDU provider.

@CTOBIN60

Unless you have your own bill for your individual account, then your nursing home like most is a Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU). That means your service is managed by a 3rd party MDU dealer for what level of package, management of equipment, and any repairs that must be made.

The United States does not have an official language. Yes the most commonly used is English and Spanish. With immigration and the fact that our country's physical size is that of several European countries, we have multiple language's and regional speak. A TV service that services nationally will not restrict itself to channels only available in a single language.

However, most of the channels are in English. If your service is reversed and the majority is Spanish, then that suggests your MDU is setup with a Spanish base package instead. Assuming you are not exaggerating the ratio of channels of course. But if you have an English base package, but most channels aren't English, something doesn't add up about your setup.

DirecTV gets the channel that are going to be popular. Some channels they get because the owner requires them in a package deal (consider how many Disney and Fox channels there are, TV providers don't get to choose just one they get a bundle). So they are not going to add or remove individual channels based on your personal opinions about language.

It is also possible that the DTV receiver is setup to use a non English SAP (Secondary Audio Program)

Even if an SAP issue, the majority of channels are English unless they specifically have one of the Spanish base packages.

It is suggested to try and learn a major language for where you move to, as it certainly makes life easier, but there is no requirement. If someone wants to continue speaking their native language, or just cannot learn another language (be it their 2nd, 3rd etc.), then that is just how it is.

@CTOBIN60

I would also double check what local channels DirecTV has permission to carry where you live. https://www.directv.com/channel-lineup/

If certain local networks (NBC, etc.) are not listed for your service then the alternate is plugging in a regular antenna to get whatever locals are within range.

Yes, I did the same and DirecTV did help me resolve my dispute with their collection agency.

Yeah  ATT pretty much ruined DTV.   I have been with them from the very start with Huges but about ready to finally drop them for something else.
