Did you call me

Did you call me? I recieved a call stating they were directv and that the satellite was going to be moved and wanted to continue the conversation. When I suggested they speak to my husband they dropped the call.

Sounds like a scam there is no reason to move the satellite in orbit or the dish and this is a customer to customer forum so no we didn't call you.

Sounds like a scam as DirecTV is not moving the satellite in orbit nor would they have any reason to proactively relocate your existing receiving dish.

That being said, DirecTV has started to shutdown the old MPEG-2 (SD-only) feeds as of April 2019. So any equipment or receiving dishes that are not MPEG-4 (SD and HD capable) would need to be replaced to continue using the service. This is a customer to customer forum, but if you have concerns on the longevity of your equipment then you can post the model numbers of each box you have and we could provide guidance.

So the call itself was most likely a scam, which are a bit more common these days because there is a legitimate required equipment update going on.
