Direct TV return address for equipment

UPS refused  to give a tracking number when  brought in my cable TV equipment to be returned They told me they return AT&T equipment in bulk when the box is full.

AT&T has charged my account for $99.24 for non returned equipment. I am trying to track this package with USPS Tracking but I need the Recipient (AT&T) Address.

Any help would be appreciated.

DTV doesn't give out the address.  The receipt UPS should have given you is the proof you returned it.  Yes UPS/FedEx bulk ships the receivers to DTV so they can't give tracking info for a single receiver.

So did you take it to UPS or USPS (Post Office)?

There is no tracking number because it is a bulk shipment in agreement with AT&T/DirecTV, not a individual shipment. But they are supposed to provide you receipt showing they took possession.

Well the United States Postal Service (USPS) shouldn't have access to United Parcel Service (UPS) shipping.

Return address for DirecTV equipment has never been provided. They do not give option for people to pay for their own return shipping or run the risk of inappropriate deliveries from disgruntled people. That info is internal between DirecTV and UPS, not for the customer.

Direct TV send me a box with a pre-paid label and I understood that I could drop at the UPS store. Do they have a track number for that Box?

Where the UPS store shipped this box? Mystery of the Pandemic!

If you are over 10 miles from a participating shipping location, then DirecTV uses the old process. They send you a prepaid box by FedEx which is sent back to them by USPS. If you took to UPS, then that was the problem being the wrong shipper.

Now we know why there is no tracking info given, UPS never should have accepted the return box

You did not follow the instructions.

You took it to UPS and now you’re trying to track it USPS. Huh?

DIRECTV should be able to track it. 1-800-531-5000

@TrollGod69

OP received a return kit, the old return process, which goes back by USPS. Unfortunately they took it to UPS instead, per the new return process.

Now that DirecTV is partnered with UPS (since acquisition by AT&T), I'm surprised this situation doesn't happen more often.

I was just trying to figure out why they’re trying to track it through USPS when they returned it through UPS.

Another symptom of the 2 shippers having very similar acronyms?
