Directv account(s) were opened under my social security number.

I went to the AT&T store to upgrade one of our lines and found out that there were 3 Directv accounts that were opened using my social security number but a different name and address. The representative at the store attempted to reach someone in the fraud department through various 800 numbers. He was redirected several times over a period of 3 hours. The store was closed ao I told him that I would attempt to reach someone the next day and that hopefully we can upgrade my phone before I leave town so that I have a working phone. The next day I spent 5 1/2 hours on the phone, spoke to at least 10 representatives, and wasn't any further along than when I started several hours before. I even spoke with 2 managers and was told that they verified that the only thing linking me to these accounts was my social security number. One of the managers attempted to clear the accounts but said the system wouldn't allow her to make any changes. She was at a loss, and said that I may want to dispute these throught the credit department. The next day, yes we are on day 3 of trying to resolve this issue so that I could move forward with  upgrading my line. I spoke to three agents with the credit department, to my surprise they were at a loss and didn't know what to do. I was on the phone for several more hours, transferred around from one place to the next. I have spent countless hours, trips to the store, and chats online and not one person has been able to help or direct me on what steps I need to take. I am ready to leave AT&T!

Ouch, 3 accounts opened under your info?

Their Identity Theft Team tends to have more traditional business hours then the rest of customer care. Try submitting it through their webform to get the ball rolling: www.directv.com/notmyaccount

Thank you for the replies. I used the link and had to complete three different forms since this involves 3 accounts. I received an email from the fraud department at direct tv and was told there wasn’t enough information for them to investigate the matter. I am very confused because they could clearly see that all 3 accounts were under different addresses and names. I haven’t ever lived near or in any of the three states. Unfortunately I am still battling to get these accounts off of my credit! So frustrating that not one person seems to be able to help. I even went to a local corporate store a few days ago and they called the fraud department and spent over an hour trying to find someone that could help to no avail.....I am seriously ready to leave this company...
