Directv Customer Service outside US = Losing this customer
We switched to Directv years ago due to continued frustration with the big cable company's horrendous customer service. We always found Directv friendly, US based, customer service to be outstanding. NOTE Past tense here. When AT&T took over Directv and outsourced the customer service to flow to locations outside the US first has resulted in such frustration for us that we are counting the days until we cancel. Has anyone else experienced the same frustration? I literally cannot wait to cancel and we are just going to go to antenna use & streaming. We detest the cable company and now Directv is joining the same ranks in our household. We repeatedly ask to be transferred to a US based rep so we can better understand what is being said. It is horrible and we are on our way out. Can't wait to say goodbye to Directv. You've lost a longtime customer who brought you many more customers in the past.

hulu netflix and other streaming providers all use outsourced centers. theres no getting away from it unless you just go with over the air antenna FYI directv has used overseas operators for many years before at&t purchased them.

You can't be transferred to a us rep, calls are routed to the next available rep regardless of where they are

ABSOLUTELY TRUE! Every time I have to call its at least 45 min and often longer as you get switched from person to person! After 1 incident where I spent over 2 hours just trying to pay my cell phone bill I switched to Consumer Cellular. Not only are their call centers in the USA but it was also CHEAPER even after the "great" discount we were getting from AT&T for being military. Get this Consumer Cellular uses AT&T network so I have the same coverage. I still have Directv but I'm sure I'll cancel that soon too. I hope it saves AT&T millions because everyone I talk to HATES the service... or the lack there of. No disrespect to the fine folks of the Philippines who are just trying to earn a living but it's bad for AT&T's business. I had cellphones with them for over 20 years!
