DIRECTV Satellite Account Missing Since Conversion to AT&T While Account was Suspended for Summer Vacation
I can no longer access my DIRECTV satellite account online, getting username/password combo unknown. Cannot reset the password. I even tried creating a DIRECTV account under att.com, but my DIRECTV satellite account number comes back as Not Found. Seems the conversion to AT&T may not have considered accounts that were under suspension, and are now in a black hole, orphaned in the database with no link to either the DIRECTV nor the AT&T Websites? My account came out of suspension on 11/7/2021, and I still get the monthly billing e-mails sent to my e-mail address on record, but none of the links in the e-mail allow me to access my account, either. What can AT&T IT personnel do to correct this, or is it just time to cancel my subscription permanently? Been a subscriber since 1998.

When AT&T started integrating the logins between them and DirecTV within the last couple years or so, this resulted in many broken logins that had to have the access fully reset. Thought it had been fixed at this late hour, but if yours is a remaining outlier, then you will need AT&T/DirecTV to manually clear the login so you can set it back up.
It is time to CALL customer support for assistance. Having an online issue and going straight to cancellation without speaking to anyone is a little bit of putting the cart before the horse.
This is a public forum of other customers so we cannot speak to them for you.

Well, mine is not a remaining outlier from the past. My access was lost within the last 4 months. My login had been working on the legacy DIRECTV Website until at least 4 month ago (during my temporary account suspension), which now appears to have been retired, or combined with DIRECTV Stream. I appreciate the advice to call them, but I'm fed up with companies that have IT actions that paralyze customers. I also used to be an AT&T Wireless subscriber for many years until about 4 years ago, and had many run-ins with their poor IT scenarios. I also contacted DIRECTVHelp on other media, no satisfactory response. I'm tired of spending days (literally) on the phone with customer service reps who run through the scripts, and get me nowhere until they finally listen to me and escalate to an engineer. But again, thanks.
I've also seen DIRECTVhelp respond to posts in this community forum (specifically one about login access issues), so was hoping to hear from them, and other users who may have had this issue in the past 6 months.

Wasn't saying your issue occurred that far in the past. By "outlier" I meant the odd one out affected by an issue that was thought to have been fixed.
DirecTV and DIRECTV STREAM are 2 separate providers. AT&T has a new co-owner for the TV services (streaming service used to be AT&T TV before they rebranded again).
Well, if you don't call them, then they don't know about the problem so of course nothing would be fixed. But if you have called and could not get this resolved, then that is another matter. In that case I would suggest a BBB complaint as informs the corporate level of what is going on. Perhaps yours is a different issue, not affected by that integration one, which would explain why the expected steps did not fix it. I agree at that point an IT escalation would be appropriate, which (ideally) shouldn't require a BBB complaint but certainly use if needed.

Well, I finally gave in and spent time on the phone to find that the solution was wayyy too easy. Just go to https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/register/register.jsp to get a legacy site GUI for registering with account number, phone number, and last name. It found my orphaned account, and pulled it back in for me. Now why couldn't ATT/DIRECTV just post that simple fix somewhere instead of making me spend time on the phone to get routed to the proper person who only told me to go to that URL??? Sheesh....

Glad you got it fixed. And certainly, thank you for sharing what resolved it as too often the community is left hanging.
Website redesign for new co-owner splitting DirecTV into their own section again is the issue and a legacy version of the site had was able to recover access. Feels like the original integration of DirecTV into AT&T's website all over again.
