DirecTV shows my address as being blocked for satellite service by an HOA, but I don't have an HOA

I'm trying to sign up for DirecTV satellite service, but none of the sales people are able to sign me up due to this error message.  I live in a single family home in the middle of nowhere, but for some reason DirecTV's system shows it as being part of an HOA.  How can I get this fixed?

You may have to file a BBB complaint to kick it to corporate.

Even if you had an HOA, they cannot forbid you from having DirecTV per Federal regulations. That is a very unusual error message if you were talking to DirecTV over the phone. If it was someone in person (store, door-to-door, etc.), those are 3rd party sellers, not DirecTV themselves (even AT&T stores as they don't work for the DirecTV side, only send orders just like other 3rd parties), so I would stay clear of those.

I concur, file a BBB complaint as your situation is beyond front line agents.
