Got a call saying if I bought a 200 dollar ebay card I would get Premier for 50 month for 24 months just had to call a 800 number and give them the card number, Called att and they said this was a scam

It is a very big scam right now.
DirecTV never calls you to give a discount. Plus a gift card is untraceable method of funds (like giving cash). Once you give them the card info, that money is gone with no way to recover.
