eBay promotion

Hello! I was contacted yesterday for a promotion for 50% of my bill for 2 years if I would pay in advance 360.00 dollars in advance by eBay card. I also was given stars and epic for 2 years. I did this and they call back and said the cards didn’t go through and to get 2 new cards and they would refund my money. I did this. Now I wonder if it was real, if not how did I get the stars and epic channels
