Fraud when I called to update my credit card information

I called (edited for privacy and protection) as listed for Direct Billing to update my credit card number. I was tod that I paid $149.10 on May 8, 2024 because I was getting a $20 discount for payng by phone today and that my next payment of $169.10 would be due on June 30, 2024.  I was given a confirmation number of 160980 and told I would receive a confirmation email.  I received an email, but everything was incorrect except my Direct Acct. number.  They refered to a bank draft from account ending in (edited for privacy and protection) and gave 83K7DTV2D03Y76Z as the confirmation number.

Where was that listed? Seems it may have been a scam number so do everything to protect yourself.

Make sure to call the official DirecTV number. I have the one they have used for about 30 years in my signature.

Your DTV billing cycle started the day you where installed, on day 2 the bill is made and sent, 20 days later it is due. 

Googling that number when it was up returned a cable company not DTV and this
