Get out of contract

How do I get out of my contract? I am so tired of having no television every single time it rains

Rain fade is a common problem with satellite, and one of the reasons I no longer use it. Shouldn't occur with minor showers, though, if your dish is properly aligned. The only way to get out of your contract is to fulfill it by paying the required Early Termination Fee.

You have to call and pay the ECF/ETF. Most likely your dish needs to be aligned, there are video on youtube if you want to try it your self otherwise you have to call and wait until a CSR can setup a tech visit, while rain fade can never be eliminated a properly aligned dish will minimize it.

You don't "get out" of your contract. Satellite by nature of technology is subject to weather. Though as long as the receiving dish is properly aligned, and coax secure and in good condition to prevent seepage, then weather issues should be rare and/or minor.

You can try aligning the dish your self if you are a do-it-yourselfer. Otherwise, call DirecTV. If you choose to cancel you will pay an early cancellation fee (ECF) valued at $20 for each month remaining of your service agreement.

I think at this point it would be worth it to pay the buyout.  Spectrum always advertises that they will pay if you switch

For what it’s worth, I only lose signal in very heavy rain. I haven’t had cable in many years but it was out for more often than Directv ever has. Maybe you’ll have a better experience with cable than I did.
