How can I change my payment option for DIRECTV?
The payment method I have normally used to pay my DirecTV bill every month is no longer valid . This is due to a damaged chip necessitating a new card from the same company . The new card is different from the old card, in the last five digits.

I have attempted on several occasions to change my "Card on File " by going to "My Account: My Profile " to make the change . When I input the entire card number, along with Expiration Month and Year, with the Security Code, I get "Invalid credit card number or wrong card type". This is highly likely if not impossible do the the fact that I have been making payments to others with the same card, with absolutely no problems. I can even use the new card as payment, to DirecTv, if I do so without logging in .
My Question: Is there some magical, mystical way of changing my payment method, for DirecTV that would be acceptable to the AT&T Gods?

If the online system isn't accepting the new card, the next step is calling customer support. Online or calling are the options. Sorry no "magical, mystical" way beyond that.

Thanks Juniper,
Tried online chat...no joy. Just spent about 40 minutes with Customer Support . Had a bit of difficulty understanding the person there, but that Support person assured me that it had been changed in the system and would be appearing "soon" as a payment source for my account.
I was paid up prior to my post here, so............we'll see what happens next month . I'll post back, then.
