I want out of my contract
I was told att and direct would cost about 120.00 a month. I live on a fixed income. I get a bill today for 190.00 I cant afford all this. I have tried to cancel this crsp since it was put in, but they keep talking me into staying. I am tired of fighting every month about the cost. What can be done. I hate this and i want out. I truly feel like they have taken advantage of me. I dont even get good service inside my home. I cant afford all this. I want out

Call DTV and cancel and pay the ECF/ETF. The email DTV sent before the install would have stated the cost so you could have cancel then. We all live on a fixed income.

You mention you have been trying to work with this since put in, so I take it you are a new customer. Starting a service with any company, read the order confirmation as this details exactly what you are getting in the terms of monthly cost and intro specials. If the order is not as expected, this is your opportunity to contact DirecTV to discuss the order, possibly modify it, or close it if it will not work for yu. Intro discounts are normally for the 1st 12 months, with the 1st 3 months having free premium channels (HBO, etc.). After the 12 and 3 months respectively, the discount comes off and the related service goes to full cost.
If you are on a fixed income, then review the services you use and if needed lower them to something comfortable within budget. You can change your package at any time. Never rely on discounts to afford the service as those are temporary perks, not a permanent way to lower the bill. When it goes to full cost if it is outside of your budget, then minimizing services is what should be done. You can go to a much lower package to catch up on the bill, and after a couple months or whatever you need then raise it up to level that would be budget friendly going forward.
As for " but they keep talking me into staying." well it is the agent's job to try and retain your business, which should be honest offers (if any available) or at the very least reviewing the account to see about what would be your ideal setup for budget right now, but in the end it is your decision if you keep the service or close the account.
Being other customers we don't have access to your account. If you were to list the DirecTV services (or screen shot the line items of your bill), then perhaps we could help see what room you have to work with to save costs. The biggest thing I would suggest is review the channels you watch and see which ones are most desired. For programming comparisons here are their main packages: https://support.directv.com/dtv-programming/360
There is also the Family package. Programming works for a niche set of viewers, but being the lowest costing package some people use it to save cost for a little bit when they need more of a financial buffer for a while. http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/compare/printablePackageChannels.jsp?packageId=960004

To find out your service agreement date you must call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000. They do not allow this information to be disclosed by any other method as they want a live agent to discuss the situation with you. Chat is a secondary customer service medium and does not have everything that the retention department may have access to.
The early cancellation fee (ECF) is worth $20 for each month remaining. So for example if you have 12 months left, then your ECF would be $240. You just have to speak to the retention department to verify your agreement date to be sure how many months are remaining.
