IBUY DOGTV for our dogs for 7 yrs now. BUT NOW 2 TECHS HAVE WALKED AWAY FROM SERVICING MY BOX! BECAUSE I HAVE DOGS! DON'T SELL The CHANNEL

Directv tells me my box needs upgrade and I had a card they sent me 9 mths ago, I put it in and got a Code to call In. The tech tries and I get transferred to someone else. That tech tells me to take card out until it acts up. Then call tech support. I don't get That own my equipment since my zip code could get Satellite.  Wow. I'm old & disabled now. On a low income and have to drop channels so lower my bill.BUT Directv had a FREE weekend of DOG TV+ my dogs that I had to leave alone.  They were mesmerized.  So no matter what I make sure they always have it. Well, the box sends msg again and tells me I need  a tech.call tech support who tries to reboot it.But they are on auto pay and are charging me for months for an upgrade I never got since Jan.And Jan 1 charged me a $9.99 ONE TIME CHARGE. Then Jan 3 charge me ANOTHER ONE TIME FEE. I don't even have DVR! When a tech shows up which I'm stuck Waiting between such & such time. He won't re-boot my box BECAUSE I HAVE DOGS! YES...and we are watching antenna TV but they still on auto pay. Tech & I bought called in and he left. So we have to reschedule another stuck.  Next tech stops half way up path and hears my dogs and REFUSES TO COME IN. He tells me he has to do my whole system and wants in back yard. He only had to walk 9 steps if so 10 shoes to the guest bed where box is located. So now I have to move what dog I moved out back inside. On side of house is a wrought iron gate that you have to lift to swing open. HE.WONT OPEN THE GATE AND NEEDS TO CALL OFFICE.  I was so mad I told him so let an old broken woman to open for you...big f...ING baby. So he goes & sits in his van and we both called in! He reported one of my dogs was vicious to him and puts ban on my account. The cust service woman was wonderful.  She says she will ask to send me a pre-programed.box that I'll just have to swap out and will have Corporate call me. It's been since May/June that I'm paying for Starz AND DOG TV while we're watching Storage Wars...Ice driving truckers  etc. WHY SELL A CHANNEL THAT NONE OF YOUR TECHS WON'T SERVICE. WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOUR TECH IS ALLERGIC TO CATS!!!!AND GETS ALL STUFFED UP WHILE HES THERE????  Twice I HAVE REQUESTED THEM TO SEND A TECH THAT EITHER HAS A DOG OR NOT TRAMATIZED BY ONE ON HIS BIKE when he was a kid! I asked the last one to send a Tech with Balls! I finally turned off auto pay.  Watch them turn off what I don't have!!!!! Where's my refund? How about a programmed box for.being a long long time customer! And loyal long before there was a Directv !!!!

I assume you have SD only boxes and a round dish so you are out of luck as DTV is shutting down the MPEG2 SD channels so you can't continue with DTV unless you replace you equipment with MPEG4.  Per the TOS you have to provide access to your home even if that means putting the dogs away and opening gates.

Why are you paying for Starz if you don't watch it?

Techs do not know the dogs personally. Too many people are "oh my dog is is the sweetest thing", but when a tech does their work the dog acts contrary to what the owner said. Calling them "babies" (including swearing at them) and saying they need "balls" (which naturally you don't have, hence why that phrase is absurd), does not get them to want to help you more or change safety concerns. So if you want help show some maturity (age and maturity are not the same thing). You don't know the tech's life story, so "traumatized as a kid on their bike" is uncalled for. An "old broken woman" (your words) on a rant could call for similar or worse judgement if others were so inclined. So I say step back, take a breath, and deal with this civilly like an adult.

It sounds that you have MPEG-2/SD-only equipment. If so then then practically the entire setup, including receiving dish, needs to be replaced. SD-only TVs haven't been made in over a decade and DirecTV grandfathered SD-only service back in late 2015 in preparation of the shutdown. Going forward everyone needs MPEG-4/SD and HD capable equipment.

To be sure, what are the models of each box you have? Want to make sure you only replace as needed and not get an upsell of more than you need. The MPEG swap should be free, but again depends on your exact setup.

Turning off autopay doesn't change that you still owe your bill. If you don't pay it, then late fees, involuntary interruption of service, and further collection consequences would be on you. So the proper thing to do is either continue with any equipment updates as needed, including calling and requesting a time without service credit to day of install complete (if service wasn't usable at all, not simply a channel), or call to cancel if you wish to move on.
